magnitude earthquake in Los Angeles after shocks as well of course the area

well known for the earthquake scenario it's very worrying for people who live there despite the fact that they live

there regardless well they get a hit with that quite a bit uh I lived in Los Angeles very briefly a number of years

ago and I got hit by a few and even living in Oregon we got we got hit that whole Corridor up and down the uh West

Coast gets hit with them quite a bit but so uh you know we're kind of talking about a 4.4 but when you come down to it

it's really not that big of a quake uh from all reports that we're getting um

nobody died nobody was injured there was very very little if any damage and uh

you know it went all the way down to uh San Diego which is a good couple of hundred miles so um uh everything seems

to be okay but as I said on the west coast you're kind of kind of used to that sort of thing a 4.4 isn't much of

anything usually get some decent pictures decent I mean a dramatic pictures of stuff uh when these kind of

things happen and um four miles from Pasadena TV news helicopters were out and about and they were showing water

spilling from the Upper Floor of Pasadena City Hall oh I have no doubt about that I didn't see that that

footage but you're right you always get some good footage um especially of things shaking and things falling off

shelves and that sort of thing and only a week ago they had a 5.2 in Southern California that was felt in

La so they've had they've had two in uh in a week have you ever been to one have you ever been in part of an earthquake

moves one time the first time it happened to me I was I was taking a nap on the couch and it felt like somebody

let's look at some some more developments in the Middle East and tensions are growing we almost seem to

be saying that each time we talk uh but there are more and more concerns of a

major breakout of conflict in the area so much so that the US are now sending a

guided missile submarine to the area well the uh this all comes off of the

assassination of their president U last month and the Iranians are blaming

Israel for the assassination and uh the US is trying to Tamp everything down the US and the UK and France and Germany

trying to Tamp this thing down to keep it from growing into anything but but you're right uh an a an aircraft carrier

group called uh uh the USS Abraham Lincoln with all the ships that come uh

along with that and also the USS Georgia which is the nuclear submarine is being sent to the area um just trying to keep

everything quiet but you know you kind of wonder if if if all these ships are coming into the area how quiet it's

going to be you know and what the Iranians are thinking because right now nobody really knows what's uh what's

going to happen civilian aircraft pretty much all pulling out from flying in the area as well yeah if you're if you're

interested in flying into Israel or into anywhere in that area um on a on some sort of a pleasure trip

you're probably not going to have to be able to do that for at least for a couple of weeks it's uh it's being

be in in some sort of a Love Fest but you know it it nothing it was nothing short of trump and his normal uh list of

complaints against how he's being mistreated and and misspeaking and

attacks on Harris attacks on uh on Tim Walt so um it was all really bizar are

from from everything I saw yeah he certainly did you did you get a chance to see much of it I I just

saw what was shown on um on CNN and fox this morning so not the whole thing certainly but basically it was a bit of

a snoozefest I mean there were he was rambling uh pretty much as usual uh seems to be doing quite a lot of that

these days uh Mr Trump and basically attacking he keeps on rolling out the same stuff as well uh calling kamla

Harris the Democrat Representatives as the borders are she wasn't in charge of the Border uh he keeps repeating it and

I hope that everybody will believe that she was she was in charge of talking to countries where refugees were coming

from to the UN United States in a way to try and Al the situation she was not in control of the border that wasn't her

job but it even got more bizarre when he was talking about how beautiful Kamala looked on the cover of Time Magazine not

not many people read magazines anymore I know and especially Time Magazine but it's a big thing being on the cover of

and uh so he said boy she really looks great in that he looks she looks as great as Melania does yes oh brother he

he's right but you know he said some crazy things like he said the biggest threat to the world is not global

warming where the ocean is going to rise an eigh of an inch over the next 400 years the biggest threat is nuclear

he was he was alluding to um what was it he Russia defeated Germany with us and they defeated Napoleon you know they've

been around a long time they're a big fighting force it's very unfair we're in a bad position and I'm not going to

blame exclusively but I can tell you I could have stopped that basically blame Biden for Russia invading Ukraine well

Trump is so bizarre because musk bounced him off of X uh two years ago and since

then he's he's reinstated him but but Trump doesn't do much on X or on Twitter

um and so got his own true social network now I know I know which you know is not exactly a preferred social

network from uh according to how many people subscribe but you know there's there's a a big kiss fest going on

between the two of them but you know both of them are in incredibly weird and incred Incredibly odd to use a

democratic term and uh uh you know and this you know we're not even talking

about this this uh problem with the EU which you're you know very much uh

involved with yeah he's he's got a few issues on his plate there Mr musk with

um with not complying with the new EU rule and I mean he he doesn't seem to be

bothered that it cost him quite a large amount like something I can't remember the exact figure it was something like

either 6% or 12% of the annual worldwide Revenue uh for X formerly known as

Twitter but he seems to carry on regardless it in much the same way as Mr Trump does they're very similar in some

ways despite not getting on in the past and Trump did say at the end didn't he that he would start using X more often

yeah he did say that now whether he absolutely does that or not you know remains to be seen but but but what I

found interesting is that the the EU is is trying to crack down on on the amount of disinformation and I really love the

fact that the EU is doing that because in the States you don't have those sorts of checks and balances so you know that

the states really do take you know freedom of speech to the to the nth degree you can say things that are not

true and and and get away with it uh which you I kind of wish there were

checks and balances but you know when uh when the EU jumped in uh Trump came campaign spokesman jumped into this

thing and said that the EU ought to mind their own business instead of trying to meddle in the US presidential election

which clearly they're not but do you think sometimes Rich that um your

compatriots might forget that um there's free speech and then there's other speech which is incitement to racism

incitement to Riot uh which is being pedal on social media platforms

generally I'm not just singling out X um and the fact that the these entrepreneurs own them should do a

little bit more to manage the sort of content uh that is pedal on their

platforms because of the severe consequences they can have of course Elon Musk has been having a runin with

um the UK government as well the new labor government about it well I do I do agree with that that that something

should be done and matter of fact Congress has gotten involved in the past and has uh uh said to uh these platforms

individually a lot of them with Facebook because Facebook of course owns Instagram uh and WhatsApp to say you

know you need to pay attention to this sort of thing and cut down on the amount of misinformation that you're broadcasting but uh you know it comes

and goes I mean they they will Tamp down and then all of a sudden you know a year goes by and they go oh yeah we we forgot

about all these other 100,000 things that that went through but Americans are very very sensitive about freedom of

speech you know anything that's going to curtail my right to say something stupid my right to say something incorrect

needs to be um guarded by the Constitution and there are people who are very very adamant about this sort of

thing and you know this is we've absolutely opened a new door here you know 10 years ago when when Facebook

came in and when when Twitter came in and and we're in new ground here uh as far as misinformation and it's going to

get worse and worse and worse so uh you're you're absolutely right these

these sort of safeguards and these guard rails need to be kept up to uh ensure that all the information as much

one stage um that The Benchmark should be what you wouldn't say openly in

that's a pretty clear delineation you know and that can be that can be policed um but of course those rules are

different in different countries with the amendment that we've been talking about in the United States I couldn't agree more it's absolutely makes sense

he's admitted it himself maybe I've gotten worse Trump says he's talking about his discipline he's been accused

in fact perhaps admitted himself he's lost a bit of control since Kamala Harris replaced Joe Biden on the ticket

and perhaps again since we saw her running matate added as well well they

they seem to be the current uh Team of Harris and wall seem to be energetic and full of

fun and joy you know to use their term and and and you know it's it you know to

look at Trump now he seems defeated and down which is quite a departure from where he was you know during the

convention he seemed to be upbeat and on the attack and blah blah blah and now it

see the the tables have been turned it seems like he is really kind of a defeated guy but you know one of the

things we wanted to talk here and there's been a lot of chatter in in in the states about this and on media

outlets and such about about him something is being called Trump derangement syndrome you know it's it's

how he's how he seems to be slipping uh the the lying the the name calling the

narcissism uh being obsessed with crowd sizes and bigotry and and how much he

needs to be loved by everybody I mean his own retired uh chief of stamp John

Kelly who's a guy of incredible Integrity said God help us you know to to him being reelected you know and to

pick on Joe Biden and Joe Biden you know you know is 81 years old and and

everybody even every Democrat will tell you he seemed to be slipping a little bit especially over the past couple of months but he's a guy he's very

empathetic he's he's a man of integrity he's he's a man who's very sympathetic to people's causes uh and you know to go

on the attack to a guy like that one thing is for sure though you know before we really dive into this is that that

when Reagan was running for president he was 69 years old and there was a lot of talk in the states about somebody being

so old being president and you know he ran for you know he's president for eight years uh clearly this is a time

where I don't think In Our Lifetime you're ever going to see an 81 and a 78y old man on a on a ticket ever again I

mean I I could be whistling past the graveyard but I I don't see this happening no I I sup I suspect not

because of you know what what's happened in the meantime we have heard from President Biden in the meantime he was

talking about his reasons for not running again yeah he said uh essentially he got

squeezed out you know the the the Democratic Leadership said if you continue along this path if you continue

and the polls keep cratering like this you're going to take down every every Democratic senator every Congressman

everybody who's running for office you're going to you're going to haul them down into this black hole and it's going to be really hard for them to

recover so this is you need to take one for the team here and just kind of uh bow out gracefully and and thank God

probably and and and your listeners probably don't see as much American television as I do which is all the

rallies and all the excitement that's uh happened right now and due to the fact that she's up by four or 5% in the polls

where we were down 5% we I said we but the Democratic party was down you know uh is uh is kind of it speaks to the

whole situation and ah had in three of these swing States as well uh which is

quite important and just one last thing on Joe Biden it was great to see him on the beach with the family this

week it was come on that's what an 80 81 year old man should be doing he should be on the beach with his family well we

watched we watched a YouTube of a of a show in in the states a satiric show called The Daily Show and they had

footage they had footage of Biden and his wife on the beach they said does this look does this look does this guy

look like he's threatening anybody he looks like he should be he looks like an 81 year old man sitting on the beach so

you know stop attacking him leave him alone let him do his job right so Trump is rattled definitely yeah yeah yeah

audience is at this speech and that speech is 10 times what it used to be it's big as Martin Luther King speech

um what all what L about him confusing various black politicians because at first of all we couldn't work out what

story he was on about where he said he was in a dangerous helicopter ride and it could have gone down and everyone

else who he was saying that was with him was going well we went on that what's this about so he said he was G he he

almost crashed a couple of years ago and he was talking to uh the mayor of at the

time mayor of San Francisco a man named Willie Brown um and he he said to he

said and uh Willie Brown told him that Kam really wasn't very smart because they were dating at the time and in fact

Willie Brown says I've never been in a helicopter with Donald Trump I don't know what you're talking about and it turns out after they did a little

digging uh it was a guy named Nate Holden who is now 95 years old who was

from Los Angeles and said oh yeah I was in a a a helicopter and we had made an

emergency landing back in the 90s but apparently Willie Brown is short and black and uh Nate Holden is tall in

black and so uh you know of course they said he got us confused and everybody you know we all look alike and that that

sort of nonsense that's what that's what he said wasn't Trump said that it was you

know it was the fact that that that he said that he say Trump trump Trump trump

jokes was I'm sure as the plane was going to crash Trump was talking to Willie Brown

about uh KLA Harris I'm sure that's exact the conversation that was uh uh that was

transpiring as they were heading toward the ground oh there were so many quotes it's just it's impossible for us to to

to talk about them more we'll talk about lies and Distortion in a moment just one other one that I thought was great was

the fact that he was saying the reason that he didn't die when he was shot at that rally was because of immigration

did you hear that no no I didn't hear that one what he said he was turning his head to look at an immigration chart he

was saved by US immigration because he turned his head to look at a chart and that's how the bullet clipped his ear

instead of hitting him I see you can't make this stuff up absolutely can't I love it right what

about this is great because um you know you were talking about the likes of uh National broadcasters not really

checking what's uh what's said and what's done uh but we know there is a body that does that uh and that the uh

the nonprofit journalists aren't they the they're the people that they're holding him to

account well one of the things that happened after he gave that speech in uh

I don't know where where it was and he gave the the his last speech that was um

64 minutes long um NPR National Public Radio which is nonprofit um did a

complete uh check on everything he said and they found 162 lies in 64 minutes

that's pretty good to a minute um things things like I think our country right now is in the most dangerous position

it's ever being in from an economic standpoint and in fact the US economy is quite strong um inflation is down to its

the lowest it's been in three years uh and it was a lot higher when Trump there are still some worry points but it's

certainly not in the most dangerous position it's been in no no no no everybody thinks and the stock market is

going great guns but uh you know he was he's always pointing out things were better when I was presid president and

and when you do any sort of factchecking you realize no it was not things were a lot worse and it was during Co and and

the United States did not exactly do a great job during Co I mean there they lost more people um they were slow in uh

in developing vaccines and and you know was a real you know it was a bad time around the world we know that um they

were talk he was talking about from a safety standpoint gangs on the street well actually there there's nothing

being done on gangs but violent crime is down murder rape down from when he was

president in 2020 um you know he's worried about gangs uh and he also said

we have a lot of bad things coming up you could end up with a depression of the 1929 variety which would be

devastating thing it took many years and decades to recover from that actually it

happened in the 1929 and it was done in 1941 when uh when the US entered World

War II and uh and no it's not a depression and we're not heading into a depression and it's it's just it's just

crazy talk uh yeah I mean like you say they far far too many for us to to list

stories got a question uh from the from Mike who actually is traveling across

Spain at the moment heading towards Kik somewhere at the moment um where did

just there was a little bit before where Mike and Maxine uh and uh Chino and their 2-year-old grandson who are

driving across Spain at the moment from Mano down to ques heading from the UK anyway Mike is saying uh how the

Democrat campaign has been re-energized but there is a sense that Trump will refuse to accept the outcome of the vote

if he's defeated mean well yes he's got he's got form huge problem that's a huge

problem Mike uh you know because he didn't accept it last time and look what happened they ended up storming the capital and and he is such a sore loser

and he's such a I'm sorry to say this but he's a big baby uh you know he's he

thinks everybody's against him and he said publicly if I lose that means it's rigged and and

that is is simply not going to be the case there are foreign uh uh foreign uh

operatives at work trying to uh mangle themselves into certain uh uh into

certain elections it happens in the UK it's happening in the states we know that's going to happen but the I got to

believe the FBI is on it the CIA is on it and they're going to do their best to keep that from happening but if you lose

you lose and that's that's it but certainly the the big problem one big problem is going to be on November 5th

on Election Day but the big problem is going to be on January 20th which is Inauguration Day so a lot can happen in

between in in those three months so Mike you're uh you're entirely correct in uh

in being apprehensive one thing we have seen though when that happened last time

around a number of those that were out on the streets on Capitol Hill have been receiving quite long jail sentences

might deter people in the future do you think uh you would hope I mean there are

you know Trump saying I'm going to Pardon all of those people because they're innocent and in fact a couple of

hundred people have been convicted it might even be a thousand people I but they're slowly very slowly finding those

people because of video and and uh they are cameras everywhere and these people

are being put into jail one somebody this past week just got a a 20-year sentence so I would think I would hope

and I would pray that that it would uh deter people from storming the capital and if you're listening out there please

don't storm the capital any capital and just stay at home you know do your

rooting in from the from the quiet of your living room let's um we we were going to try and leave the Trump stories

but there's been some more uh talk on the bay radio WhatsApp from Mark who

says that of course uh the difference this time is that Trump is isn't the current president uh neither is kamla

Harris of course and uh mark saying that it may depend how many swing States go Blue uh uh he'll kick off if he loses

though because he'll end up in jail yeah that's great in theory but I

can't see anybody putting him in handcuffs and taking him to jail that would that would trigger some sort of a

I I wouldn't say a civil war but that's going to trigger a lot of unrest and and probably it's not going to happen uh I

think a lot of people they would love to see him Stripes that perhaps wouldn't happen at the time if he was refusing to

accept the result but surely um if he's not president then maybe some of these things that are hanging over his head

may come to roost afterwards if should they come to trial you know part of the problem is that uh there are too many

judges that have either been appointed by him or appointed uh during his tenure

in office that are sympathetic to him and so they're likely to be kind of lenient look what the Supreme Court did

I mean the the the Supreme Court voted six to three that a president has more

power than than they've had in the past and that's aimed toward him now what happens is they say you know uh we're g

to let Trump off the hook for blah blah blah for you know for uh election interference and all this other stuff

that he's done and then you turn around and you know what you've done is you've G you've given more power to a Democratic president who's just about to

start so it I mean that door does swing both ways so it it could be kind of it

kind of kind of a situation to really really watch um but I don't I don't see

him being put in handcuffs and it doesn't matter if he's a private citizen it's he's he wields a lot a lot of

authority in the in the country right now unfortunately okay let's rule move on um

unto the judge ruling against Robert F Kennedy Jr in the fight to be on the New

York ballot what's why is that well it's a little bit the situation is that

everybody who uh from the UK or from anywhere else uh in the world has has got to remember that in the United

States uh you you're not on the ballot for the country you're on your State's

ballot uh you you're on 50 ballots and so your campaign has got to go in and

and get you registered to to run for president in your state and so you've got to do it 50 times it's kind of a

pain but that's kind of the system and the New York is the I believe uh
