[Music] I've no idea what your subject is this
0:07
week it's a lovely one turkey you're going to really enjoy it drives me aren't you
0:13
first of all though how did Justin Paddy's Day go I survived that too
0:19
you were busy I was it was inspired for this I had two gigs on the day itself
0:25
yeah and then I heard a couple of straggler gigs on the Saturday and the Sunday and my voice just held out it was
0:33
the Sunday last two songs that I was hanging on for dear life I was just please get me through and uh yeah Stam
0:41
and I got pulled all the energy from the very bottom of my toes it looks like you managed perfectly yeah it was good it
0:47
was great crack brilliant so it's the lunchtime lifestyle lab
0:54
so what do we got this week come on Dougie finishes it's the lunchtime lifestyle lab learning to live
1:01
the Limitless life my love yeah see you're shying away from it I know I was
1:08
just getting it right in my head first you were practicing it inside um so I thought
1:14
I'd like to talk about something really close to my heart Dougie and that's my absolute passion my
1:21
adoration and my desire for sugar ah poison God I am poison I have such an
1:33
unhealthy relationship with sugar and I think an awful lot of people do so I
1:38
thought it's a great one to talk about because it's so inherent it's so infused
1:44
in what we eat and uh you know what we long for and what We crave
1:50
um and you know it's quite controversial really isn't it because some people say ah it's fine and other people oh there
1:55
he is have you got sugar in your teeth sugar in my tea good man
2:02
I mean I used to have six sugars but I asked I used to ask him not to stir it because I don't like it sweet
2:13
Ness speechless there for a bit wow if if well I've never ever seen that before
2:20
I don't think anybody's seen Neve speechless no just try to visualize six spoons of sugar in a cup of tea God lord
2:27
uh yeah do you want to visit tea with your sugar you know it's it's great stuff in that it tastes so damn good you
2:35
know and I grew up in a sweet shop so I was completely addicted I'd sneaked
2:43
down in the middle of the night and it was back in the day when I don't already remember the sweet shops they were all on display and these big plastic
2:49
containers you'd have your Coca-Cola bottles beside your gummy rings beside
2:54
you this oh just hype you down in the middle of the night scoff and my parents wondered why is they lived in a Sweet
3:01
Shop literally and it was the best place for my friends to come for a sleepover obviously because all of them all them
3:08
downstairs in the middle of the night scoff and sweeties Cadbury's chocolate
3:13
that would have been my childhood dream to live in a sweet or a toy shop it was
3:21
it was a dream come true and it was a great it was a dream come true later on when I started smoking as well because I was able to Nick the cigarettes from the
3:28
bottom shelf you know it was just fantastic always give your cigarettes
3:33
out of the reach of children yes oh Deary me so yeah I learned very early
3:39
on how to love sweets my dad as well you know he had a great Sweet Tooth um my son Oscar has a massive Sweet
3:47
Tooth it makes me nervous because it's even worse than mine so this is a battle for me it's an ongoing battle
3:52
considering that I'm trying to be the healthiest person I can this is my massive struggle so I thought it'd be
3:58
nice to have a little chat about it because I know loads of people are going to get where I'm coming from when I start talking about sweeties and
4:04
chocolate cakes and cookies and all that delicious gorgeousness and uh what we'd
4:09
like to do today Dougie is not put a complete and utter dampener on everybody's parade do we because it's
4:16
coming up to Easter and we're all going to love a little bit of Easter egg yeah
4:24
you know what if you can go down the dark roots apparently it is better me I'm the milkier the sweeter that's my
4:32
Achilles heel but uh let's have a chat about it and see what we can come up with and see if we can create a bit of
4:39
awareness around it learn a little bit more about what sugar's all about and if
4:44
we should or shouldn't or how much we should or shouldn't what do you reckon Dougie are you up for a chat absolutely
4:51
absolutely it depends on the individual doesn't it metabolic rate like
4:59
I suppose so I mean my metabolic rate is pretty good so therefore I'm kind of lucky I can I can show quite a bit of
5:06
sugar and get away with it yeah um I think other people you know it'll cause all types of weight issues then I'm very
5:12
very busy I'm very active I do practice so I mean I do yeah you know having said
5:19
that God knows what's going on on the inside can't see that no that's true certainly you know I actually I've been
5:26
I've been diagnosed with ADHD with the H being a b h so the hyperactivity there
5:32
in the ADHD it doesn't mix well with sugar I think I think it mixes great because
5:39
it gives me extra superhuman powers to be able to do 27 things at once
5:45
um but yeah powers does it give you well I can read a book I can write a
5:51
story I can clean the house and I can uh do all this and talk to you all at the same time
6:02
the problem with ADHD is the management of all that's going on
6:08
there's only one time and the ability to focus and um the ability to
6:15
be able to you know multitask and as a woman we do tend to be good at multitasking but it for me it's quite a
6:22
struggle you know costs a lot of energy to do so and uh yeah the sugar I suppose would trigger extra activity and extra
6:31
hyperactivity so I'm just you know I'm setting myself up for um quite quite you
6:37
know more stressed I can't help but oh God do I love cake and as we spoke about
6:42
before on this show and I've spoken about it openly with many people I I quit alcohol yeah now alcohol is
6:50
basically liquid cream cakes yeah so you know I couldn't just
6:56
eliminate sugar completely from my dad and what I found was when I got rid of the sugar was I was reaching more and
7:02
more for large family-sized bags of Haribo oh jumbo kilo size bars is a big
7:10
fan of the haribo's yeah yeah a little of what you fancy but not too much and
7:17
she's giving it to her kids as well yeah well if you're going to give them something let it be Haribo because I I
7:22
suppose it's probably the better than some of the sh-i
7:28
at the end to make it Irish it's some of it is awful stuff but some of it is better than others
7:35
um about three years ago because I can't do things by halves me
7:41
you know I can't just say oh I just cut down a little bit on sugar um I did a thing called veganuary
7:48
oh yeah yeah so it's like a 30-day challenge in January where you you quit eating all animal products and you know
7:56
why I did that for one reason only very very simply I did that to quit Haribo
8:03
right doggy I'm going to I'm going to tell you a secret now this is my dirty little secret I would go to bed at night
8:11
and I'd snuggle up with my Netflix and I'd have a family-sized by the Haribo
8:17
with me and I'd get through that I wouldn't nibble on it I'd finish it I don't even know the weight of it half
8:23
a kilo a kilo something ridiculous I was so addicted to terrible that it was you
8:28
know it became more of an issue than the booze almost um so I took on
8:35
um yeah the the veganuary not about me it's not about Dairy it was about Haribo
8:40
because it's the the words it's made from gelatin isn't it
8:46
you know the animal product in there so right well I do think anyway that'll get rid of my uh Haribo addiction do you
8:54
know what it did work and I learned a lot now occasionally
8:59
I'll pick a jelly you know or have a Haribo but the the obsession with it has gone you know if there was no Haribo in
9:05
the house he didn't want to be near me I'd be raging so um I've been able to
9:11
I mean so easy to be addicted to Sugar incredibly easy and I think a lot of it
9:17
is to do with the Cravings the highs and lows it gives us so after we have that
9:23
energy dip your body's literally craving for that high again so it's not just a
9:28
psychological addiction it's the physical addiction of needing the energy boost from the sugar so there's a
9:35
there's a lot to it but you know it's not all bad it's one of those ones that in moderation
9:42
yeah I mean moderation yeah but um anybody going through a cancer
9:49
Journey will probably no doubt know that any sugar will feed that cancer will
9:56
feed those cells uh so that is a big No-No if you're if you're diagnosed with
10:02
cancer at all I mean I on my journey I I read a book called
10:07
anti-cancer a new way of life written by Dr David Cervin scheiba I think it was
10:13
and um it that book was my Bible through the whole
10:19
damn thing and um it it does Center a lot on things like sugar processed foods
10:26
that kind of thing and how addictive they are and how on Earth they get past
10:33
the the powers that be uh what is it the FSA
10:39
yeah yeah the Food and Drug Administration um in in the states
10:46
um there's there's a whole political thing side of it but we won't get into that
10:51
now but uh that that book was um was quite an eye-opener and I thoroughly
10:57
recommend it to anybody whether they're going through that Journey or not um because it's not just about that it's
11:04
it's all about um uh food
11:09
having evolved and well changed not for the better over the years and uh and in
11:14
fact um how farming methods have changed to create that volume of of what you
11:21
know they bulk things out with such and um yeah they really do but we're
11:27
using terrible language today aren't really Dreadful Dreadful very passionate
11:32
about this but then the thing in that book did uh Center a lot on refined
11:39
sugar and things like that and uh you know anybody that loves their sugar try
11:45
you know try some fruit yeah it's an interesting one because I
11:51
think is it the World Health Organization or whomever those powers that be they don't
11:56
categorize processed sugar as a significant carcinogenic right so
12:03
as red meat is cigarettes are alcohol is you know it's a definitive it's there we
12:09
know it sugar somehow slips through the net but what we do know is that Sugar causes
12:16
other issues in our body that absolutely do lead to cancer so for example it
12:23
causes weight gain obesity huge cause on trigger of cancer it causes inflammation
12:29
and inflammation is a massive trigger it leads to various you know that's what that's what feeds cancer so it's a bit
12:37
of a hairy one so it's like they're not singing uh very loudly about us not having to eat it just yet because I
12:43
think they need more it's almost like they needed to be defined as a carcinogenic if for instance
12:50
um uh sugar was defined as a carcinogenic um there'd be a lot of people uh
12:55
screaming about it and uh not just um not just producers of uh refined sugars and
13:03
everything that goes with but um what about um big Pharma they they don't want
13:08
you to get better don't be Daft oh well that is definitely a conversation for another day and I think we need a double
13:15
show for that one oh yeah that could go yeah that's one for um that's one for
13:21
another day because big Pharma that's a big topic for sure and funnily enough they tend to
13:28
um coat a lot of their medication and sugar to make it more exactly exactly what was
13:33
it what was the Mary Poppins a spoonful of sugar makes it helps the medicine go down yeah yeah that's the irony I know
13:40
but let's take it back a little bit so that we don't scare everybody off because they might be sitting at home having a cup of coffee with sugar in it
13:47
and having a lovely slice of cake because do you understand that in moderation and the right kinds of sugar
13:54
it isn't the end of the world you know and as human beings we like a treat and
13:59
we like to be rewarded and it's okay you know it was all right the thing is
14:05
if you're doing very well nutritionally and you're taking all the boxes it could
14:11
be that a reward system helps you continue hmm
14:17
so it could be that a slice cake with your cup of coffee on a Saturday morning out in a nice cafe really works then for
14:25
the towards the rest of the week of your hard work so you know there's there's kind of an emotional reward it's the
14:31
rewarding yourself with a slice cake every day that's what we're trying and that's kind of where I was at you know
14:37
total cake I love cake carrot cake you could buy me with carrot cake I tell you
14:45
um but then yeah there's a whole load of good sugars isn't there um you know we don't want to knock sugar
14:50
on the head completely because there's all the fruits I had a a workshop recently
14:57
you know I do a lot of walking events yeah and quite often alongside the walking event we have a workshop so I'll
15:04
be everybody for a walk build up a little bit of appetite and then we'll come back and do a workshop and this was on Valentine's Day I did a healthy heart
15:12
workshop and we covered a few snacks now one of my issues was always breakfast
15:19
time I found I really struggled at breakfast time to eat healthily because it was
15:24
always a quick grab so whether it was a sugary cereal a chocolate croissant two
15:30
digestive cookies with coffee a slice of toast and jam you know all sugary things
15:35
I'm not one of these avocado and toasted smoked salmon in the morning type person on my sugar Breaky girl I love it it's a
15:42
lot of faffing around with stuff like that isn't it I mean it is auto toast yeah I mean I I personally I go for a
15:51
like natural yogurt with um fruit and nuts now you see that this you would
15:56
have been the star of the show at my at my workshop because what I did was we said everybody it's dead easy I said to
16:03
everybody right guys let's set a timer so we got the guys at the workshop to set a timer I grabbed a banana two kiwis
16:10
an apple um I don't remember now blueberries and some other fruits I grabbed five fruits
16:16
and without slicing any of my fingers off I chopped everything up really fast threw it in a
16:23
bowl added Greek yogurt on top and sprinkled a really serious significant
16:28
uh serving of seeds so this was a big massive bowl and I was able to share
16:34
that out amongst 12 people it took us six minutes yeah to prepare that yeah
16:39
and so my point being I know that we think we're doing it just for convenience putting the toast in the
16:45
toaster but by the time you put the toast in by the time it's toasted by the time you found your butter in your jam
16:51
and maybe you had to you know warm up the butter Europe to me marmalade on
16:56
toast with a cup of tea yeah man oh well make it a nice whole grain toast
17:04
yeah and get yourself a decent marmalade made by the granny up the road you know
17:09
investigate the product absolutely it doesn't have to be the cheapest processed we're using the root word
17:16
again off the shelf you know there are options out there there's other Alternatives as well
17:22
Honey's a lot better for us yes so I make sure it's a good decent honey
17:27
you know get something locally produced that looks after the Bees and Honey as is actually good for you so you know
17:34
rather than the Cheapskate raspberry jam that's just pure refined sugar get
17:40
yourself a decent um honey um I'd love to hear from people who are listening to the show what they do
17:46
because it's a great learning curve for me and I soak up advice when it comes to Sugar
17:52
Replacements or sugar Alternatives um yes listener how can we get Neve off
17:59
the haribo's
18:05
bad for you all it causes weight gain it causes I'm gonna give the list now right just to put the fear of God into it it
18:13
causes fluctuations in our energy heart disease wrinkles acne hair loss I mean
18:21
who wants all that it wrecks our sleep because we're having sugar highs and lows
18:26
tooth decay oh no thank you very much headaches um it makes our PMS worse and nobody
18:34
likes that not the lady yourself nor the people around her and then there's the big guns you know the cholesterol and
18:41
the diabetes and our weakened immune system oh it causes constipation
18:47
oh now nobody likes that nobody likes that either so yeah Sugar's nasty as much as
18:55
I absolutely love it if I'm honest with myself sugar is nasty it is it is basically poison
19:02
really really who's poison but
19:11
but there's this fantastic recipe I'm going to share it with everybody now
19:16
um you get dates dried without seeds big
19:22
bag of nuts big bag of seeds uh maybe a bit of protein powder if
19:27
you're into that kind of thing uh chucked them in a blender right mix it up
19:32
and then you make protein balls now these are a little sweet balls of heaven and one of them with your coffee in the
19:39
morning loads you full of energy for hours I have one of them every morning I'll bring one into the studio for you
19:46
Dougie it's been a while since I've made some but before now I've
19:51
um I've made them myself and uh with dates and just to be really cheeky a little
19:58
bit of very very dark chocolate in there oh yeah a little bit the 70 80
20:06
yeah what I do I I put like
20:12
uh chopped nuts in there as well and then I'll push them into an ice cube
20:20
tray stick them in the freezer and then when they come out and you take them out of the tray little cubes lovely
20:27
little cubes of chocolate but as you say full of energy and good stuff you know
20:32
it's really a good stuff with rubbish in there recently I've started grating um doing like the zest of orange through
20:38
them nice we you know we'd make a great couple couple doggy just sitting there
20:44
with our sugar-free coffee protein balls
20:49
yeah yeah I love a protein bar and honestly because I I'm very on the Move
20:55
in the morning and I need to get stuff done quickly it's there it's ready and I freeze it as well and I'll take a box
21:01
out once a week and keep it in the fridge they're brilliant the other thing that's lovely if you're into sweet food
21:06
because I'm a devil fruit I will want my mango chutney on my Curry and I'll want
21:11
the sweet potato over the white potato you know and I love a bit of brown sauce and ketchup because it's got the sugar
21:18
in it we've got to be careful with all those condiments and Extras they're all loaded
21:24
with sugar I'm finding that most my meals are needing a little bit of a sweet touch
21:29
I'm down the Curry House and I'm having the tikka masala and the uh give me the sweeter the better you
21:35
know awful stuff what am I going to do well I um I spent this weekend
21:42
um uh messing around with my new um uh food processor and
21:48
um and I I've been practicing making a decent coleslaw because the first one I
21:53
made I was using the wrong cutter so it didn't come out right um and I put too much red cabbage in
22:00
it's got that bitter real bitterness so anyway this weekend I got it absolutely
22:05
off Pat perfect and um instead of using Mayo I used
22:12
natural yogurt Greek yogurt instead and also put in a little bit of Sherry
22:19
vinegar bit of balsamic to give it a bit of sweetness and if you like a mustardy hit
22:26
maybe some grainy mustard put that all through it work it together and it came out amazing
22:33
really really good I've got that today because I made too much all right well you know this is awful talk at lunchtime
22:39
you've got me starving my goodness I do love a coleslaw I'm super lazy because
22:45
in our supermarket at mercadonna there's a little bit of a plug for mercadana you
22:51
can get a ready-made sliced salad right so you've got spinach
22:57
in there and carrot and cabbage it's all slice all that you've got to do is throw it in and mix up the mayonnaise but I'll
23:02
try that with the yogurt thank you very much for that and you know what's lovely in a coleslaw as well and obviously if
23:08
you're into it is a coriander I did put coriander and mint in there
23:13
because they work quite well together your coleslaw's Gourmet man hmm
23:20
well it's going to last me a few days sharing is caring darling absolutely
23:26
yeah I'll I'll bring you some in but there's um there's also I've been practicing my hummus making as well this
23:34
new food process perfect for that and so yes uh you know how cheap it is to to
23:40
get a get dried chickpeas and uh leave them in soak for 24 hours and then and
23:46
then you know do the business with them and whack them in the food processor and it with some tahini tahini I love tahini
23:54
yeah and um and it came out amazing so yeah you're a man after my own heart
24:00
hummus is gonna be done on my um hit list every day maybe Thomas and
24:06
spinach and Cake just just being honest here I did my
24:14
guitar the other week I had left over I had leftover fruit
24:21
and I had one of those ready-made rolls of um pastry yes no it's puff pastry
24:28
actually and uh and I had to use it it's no good freezing that stuff because it
24:34
goes a bit weird when you try and defrost it so um so I made that I made I had had you know those uh
24:41
cherries you get in a jar sour cherries yeah I wouldn't to do with them Dougie I
24:48
stuck them in a in a saucepan and reduced them I would normally put some port in there
24:53
as well but I haven't got any so I just reduced them reduce and reduce them and then so I've got this um sour cherry
25:01
nurse I also use some cranberry as well some cranberry cranberries in amongst
25:07
there so I've waited for it to cool down once it had cooled down
25:13
and I'd put the base into a tart case spread it over there grated over some
25:19
um chocolate only a little bit of dark chocolate very dark stuck it in the oven when it came out I
25:26
then grated over some great chocolate as well okay
25:32
this is this is tremendous your amount of money skills uh you know I love I
25:37
spend a lot of time in the kitchen [Music] party
25:42
tell you what we might have might have doggies lunch and recipes
25:49
you're a fantastic Chef it sounds like I am the thing is I'm one of those um I'm
25:57
one of those people that you know I quite like what I make but I'd I'd be
26:03
quite nervous about inflicting on other people although having said that I did make a
26:09
nice Christmas Chutney this Christmas just gone and uh and put it into little
26:14
um mason jars yeah concealed them decorated the jars and I gave that out
26:20
to people oh you're so sweet that's kind of appropriate considering we're talking
26:25
about sugar today I know I know right yeah you see we don't need any extra
26:31
sugar do we we're just not really gorgeous sweetness as it is you know what there's there's there are so many
26:36
ways you can do that natural sugar thing and get almost the same hit obviously
26:42
depending on how much you you use I I tell you what I made last week as well
26:48
I had some strawberries that were going over so I stuck them in my blender wisdom up
26:54
and um then froze them with a load of
26:59
um uh natural yogurt again good old natural yeah my Greek yogurt so yeah I stuck
27:05
that in the freezer okay it was just beautiful and that's just so good for
27:10
you I mean it's not going to do you any harm no it's not this is what I need I need alternatives to ice cream because
27:18
that was it that was mine yeah because I love ice cream I mean
27:23
just it comes out great it's just frozen yogurt basically yeah well my husband
27:28
went to the doctor recently he's been on medication for cholesterol for I think
27:34
12 years now and he doesn't eat meat he doesn't drink alcohol um he has a relatively good diet you
27:40
know sneaks a few snacks here and there and when I'm not watching but he um his cholesterol is still
27:48
a little bit scarily High you know it's nothing that they need to lock them up for just yet
27:54
but it's not on the safe side and so now the doctors have said you need to eliminate all you know the white bread
28:00
the white pasta the white wise anything that has that carbohydrate in it that creates sugars you need to get rid of
28:05
all sugar now we were having a little because this is what's interesting sometimes we don't realize how much
28:11
sugar we're ingesting so we were having a little look at where he he scuffs his
28:17
sugar and he has two spoons of sugar and a coffee too much we know that right
28:24
and but then he's having maybe four to six cups of coffee a day you know when he's jumping around
28:29
between clients and if he's thirsty he'll grab a Fanta or something and that has about eight spoons of sugar in it and this is all
28:37
just mindlessly happening you know not thinking so the discussion now is well how can we
28:43
replace at least the sugar in the coffee let's just take things one step at a time because sometimes the idea of
28:48
eliminating sugar or anything from our lives completely is a bit overwhelming so we've decided just to tackle the
28:55
sugar in the coffee and I got him uh Stevia you know which is a natural plant
29:01
extract sweetener um so he's going with that at the moment he's not overly Keen it finds it a bit
29:07
bitter but you know maybe his taste buds will adjust yeah if anybody is a
29:12
learning curve for your taste buds it really it is it is I mean if anybody has any suggestions please let us know I I
29:18
had we had moved from the white processed refined sugar to like a more
29:23
locally produced cane organic sugar but I think it causes the same issues inside with his cholesterol so any other
29:30
suggestions would be welcome if anybody would like to drop us a line on the WhatsApp my ears are open to help my
29:37
poor husband still enjoy his sweet coffees I remember
29:42
back in the day when I had a bit of a chubby issue and I was going to Weight Watchers and they convinced me and it
29:50
was hard work to get there to move away from the white coffee with sugar
29:56
onto black coffee now that for me was a drastic change the the flavor of a black
30:02
coffee was very bitter very strong and I couldn't really stomach it but right now
30:08
I wouldn't be able to have a white coffee with sugar I just couldn't do it you know I am
30:13
Souls because I persevered and I'm able to really love my black coffees very
30:19
occasionally in a restaurant I might have a little sprinkling of sugar just because it's a treat
30:25
on top of a coffee but usually black coffee so it's a case of just you know stick with this and your taste buds will
30:31
adjust and you'll be able to eliminate the sugar it's not an impossibility and then when you go back to having
30:36
something sweet you might be slightly whoa my gosh that's way sweeter than I ever remembered it because your body
30:41
will adjust to the lack of of and the change of sugar level yeah I know um in
30:47
recent times people have been using um coconut oil in coffee in Black Coffee
30:52
that gives it a a different a bit of a sweet flavor is there is there there's a coconut sugar isn't there you can get
30:59
coconut sugar yeah yeah and there's I know I know people that use coconut oil in in coffee but also
31:06
um I've in the past used honey teeny bit of honey but again it changes the flavor
31:12
but it gives you that sweetness if you need it yeah so Honey's another you know
31:19
it's yeah I mean we can have an argument then about you know honey and how it's
31:25
produced and all that stuff but you know we can't fix all the problems of the world in 30 minutes
31:30
oh I could try but I don't think we'd manage it um but that's why it's nice to reach out
31:35
to people tell us what you think what you use what are your Alternatives because we want to learn from you guys
31:41
yeah you you're where the knowledge comes from I know there's date Sugar I've heard that suggested
31:48
once right maple syrup apparently has other qualities that are actually good for you it's an antioxidant and things
31:54
like that oh what's that one I gave at Agave agave that's an agave that's
32:01
another one you know it's natural um not refined and not processed yes so
32:06
you know we can use these things as Alternatives in our baking in our cooking and
32:12
um when we when we can pick up the little canisters of um the additions to add to our our cups
32:19
of coffee if anybody has any questions drop us a line let's see if we can find out for you
32:25
um and don't over fresh with regard to your sugar consumption just be aware
32:30
and have a little think about is there areas or Corners you could cut to reduce it ever since slightly because it does
32:37
bring all kinds of nasties along this later thank us later yeah and I
32:43
need to take all this advice because this is coming from somebody who has an issue with sugar I mean I am addicted to
32:49
Sugar so I'm very very cautious and I try to be mindful of it when I'm
32:55
when I'm get when I sniff it so if you're watching this on YouTube by the way you can um put something in the
33:02
comments just below put something in the comments below and remember to like And subscribe as well at the same time so
33:08
yeah so that we know where we are yeah we've got five minutes left before the
33:15
end of the show do you know what I'd like to talk about and this is because again it's something quite close to my
33:21
heart because I have teenage children it's the energy drinks doggy oh done the
33:28
monsters and the Reds get me started I know and they're just necking them like
33:34
they're going out of fashioned yeah now they're banned in my house but I was
33:39
driving along the street the other day and I saw my son and I could see him very quickly hide something behind his back I and I said to you Mr Tinker one
33:47
of the garden there was an energy drink is that the exact words you used but more or less
33:52
that's the uh censored version of what I said right and I just can't understand it why they're selling this stuff to our
33:59
kids it is brutally unhealthy it is so bad for them you know it's causing us
34:05
it's full of caffeine and their little bodies aren't designed to be able to process that level of coffee neither are
34:11
our bodies um you know so it's infected they don't even need it no it's causing all types
34:18
of problems with their studies with their attention with their attention deficit it's giving them palpitations it's giving them high blood pressure at
34:25
the age of 14 I mean for God's sake like they don't have enough to be dealing with and it's given them this
34:31
restlessness it piddles me off big time to see this
34:37
stuff stocked and you know shelves and shells of it stopped stocked in our
34:42
stores and uh we need to be talking about and our parents need to be saying no no more to that absolute trash
34:49
whatever about the other soda drinks and soft drinks and sugary drinks they're consuming this is a further step in the
34:56
wrong direction so we need to be uh our us folks we need to be getting strong man saying no no to the monster yeah I
35:05
was driving an eight-hour drive from uh Santiago home one
35:10
a year or two ago and I was falling asleep at the wheel it was bad I couldn't no matter what I did keep my
35:17
eyes open and my sister said to me stop and get yourself an energy drink and I
35:23
said I will not she said you will too so I did and I stopped at the carriage and
35:28
I had a Red Bull well holy Maloney it was bionic my eyes were popping out of
35:36
my head and I drove home
35:42
see now from that point of view I I get it it should be it should be um on the
35:49
on the in the medicine cabinet you know exactly if you need if you need something to stop you falling asleep at
35:56
the wheel yeah um then uh well hey I would suggest just have a kip in the car somewhere actually
36:01
I've done that many a time um but um but yeah I mean if you if you're gonna have an energy drink that's
36:07
the time to have it you know it is it frightened me that it was that good yeah you know it did it
36:14
I know I know why the kids like it and why people are having it you know so often but anyway listen any comments
36:21
questions feedback anything at all to do with energy drinks cakes sugar sweeties
36:27
chocolate all that stuff I love talking about it I'd love to hear from you and
