This video will show you how to set up a meeting to teach a virtual lesson in Zoom
0:05
After you have your basic account created at Zoom, that's the free option
0:09
you'll just want to log in and choose schedule a meeting up at the top
0:15
Then you'll want to enter some information about your lesson. The title of the lesson, a description if you want, and then the date and time
0:24
Now again, this is the free version of Zoom. It's only going to limit us to
0:27
40 minutes for this lesson if we have three or more participants
0:31
After the 40 minutes, the lesson is going to stop. But I can then restart the lesson and people can join again if I need more time
0:39
So that's kind of one way around that. There's a few other options as well
0:43
There's a way that you can create a password. So when your students join your lesson, they enter a password for additional security
0:51
Some other features that are on here as well. By default, the video when everyone joins is going to be off
0:56
So if you want to see students or if you want students to see you, you have to manually turn that on
1:02
Some other options as well. I usually just leave the audio option available for both telephone or computer audio
1:08
Now a few other things in here that you may want to choose on. This one is an important one
1:13
You want to mute the participants upon entry. So when they first join your lesson, they will be muted
1:19
This will save you the hassle of having to manually mute them
1:23
and listening to their background music when they initially join. It will automatically be off
1:28
A few other things in here as well. There's a way that you can create a waiting room
1:32
And then the other one on here, if you want to record it, you can record this manually
1:35
But if you just want to record it the second that this meeting starts, you can check on that
1:39
So when you're done, you click save. And this is pretty much it
1:44
There's different calendar meetings on here that you can use. But what you want to do is just take this URL
1:50
and paste that link in an email or a learning management system. That you can get this to students
1:55
They click on the link, your meeting starts, and then you're all set
