Trello versus Todoist 2024 better than monday.com
0:05
Hello everyone, welcome back to another video. I hope you all are doing great and are having an amazing
0:10
and absolutely incredible day. In this video, we're gonna be talking about
0:14
two amazing content management systems called Trello and Todoist. Now I'm pretty sure you're really well affiliated
0:22
with both of these. Now the reason for that is because many companies use these
0:26
So Trello is widely used, Todoist is also widely used. So these are really fun to use
0:33
and really incredible platforms that a lot of people have used in the past for themselves
0:39
So obviously I'm here to explain which one is better, which one works better
0:45
which one will work better for you specifically, and which is better for project management in general
0:51
So we're gonna be talking about it in great detail in depth. And yeah, we're gonna have a lot of fun with it
0:58
So to start things off, first of all comes Trello. Now to start off with Trello
1:03
creating an account in Trello is absolute piece of cake. You are allowed limited boards
1:08
but just look at the interface, it's pretty incredible. So I'm already signed in with Trello
1:12
but Todoist sign in process is pretty simple as well. So I'm gonna click on start for free
1:17
And as you can see, it takes us to the authorization of signup. Now, once it does that
1:21
it's gonna ask us our email and password. So I'm just gonna quickly show you the signup process
1:26
Pretty simple, pretty easy. Add in your email, add in your password
1:31
And once you've added in your password, you're gonna click on sign up with email. And once we do that for ourselves
1:36
it takes us to the actual onboarding. So I'm just gonna wait for it to load in
1:41
And now it's gonna ask us to create our profile. You know, you wanna use it as your Todoist team
1:47
whatever you want. You're gonna add it over here, click on next. How do you plan to use Todoist
1:52
So there's obviously personal work and education. I'm gonna go with personal for now and click on launch Todoist
1:56
And there you go. That is how simple it is to sign up with these platforms. Same goes with Trello
2:01
Trello's signup process is this simple as well. So let's get create board with these two
2:06
So now obviously my Todoist board is already open, but when it comes to Trello
2:12
you're gonna click on create and click on create board. So once you click on create board
2:16
you are gonna choose the workspace. You wanna create a board and give the board a name
2:21
Let's say I'm gonna call it new workspace. I'm gonna call it that, and I'm gonna click on create
2:28
Now, once you click on create, obviously you can make this workspace private as well
2:32
If you want to, you can work with its actual privacy settings
2:37
and turn it into your private dashboard or keyboard or workboard. Now, once you do this, from here
2:44
let me tell you a bit about myself. Now, the time when I used to do a lot of
2:49
you know, university stuff, I used to do a lot of work stuff
2:53
I used to do a lot of YouTube or maybe even social media stuff
2:57
And not even that, even if I wanna do some basic tasks in the home
3:02
and I forget a lot because, you know, it's an ADHD thing. You start forgetting a lot, okay
3:07
Now, what would I do in that case? What normal person would do in that case
3:12
is they would create a notebook and start writing things down. But no, I did not do that
3:16
because Trello did not fail me in that case. All I did was create these little tasks
3:23
using list icons in Trello. So let's say I'm gonna go with to-do, okay
3:29
And then I'm gonna do tomorrow. And then I'm gonna rewrite pending tasks
3:34
And then I'm gonna create an urgent task list, okay? So let's say we're gonna do that
3:40
So to-do, let's say I wanna record a video. I'm gonna add that here
3:46
And then tomorrow, need to upload, or no, wait, edit the video
3:53
And then let's say urgency is to get stock footage for video editing, okay
4:04
That's gonna be urgent. And then pending, obviously, you can switch these around
4:10
Let's say if it's not urgent, you can keep it here and record a video as urgent
4:14
Now, once you do this, you could shift this into pending. Like let's say the work in to-do was not done
4:21
You can shift it into pending and just create another list and you can write completed
4:26
So let's say if I have recorded a video, I'm gonna put it here, edited the video, put it here
4:31
got stock footage, put it here. So it's all completed. And that is how you can mess around with these things
4:37
Then same goes with to-do list. So in to-do list, you're gonna go into your actual project
4:43
Here's your project. Here's your home project over here. And you can start adding tasks
4:48
Task name, I'm gonna go with again, to-do. Then there's doing or no wait, pending, tomorrow
4:58
And then we're gonna write completed. And you're gonna go ahead and add as many tasks as you can
5:05
Obviously, if you get a limit on tasks, you can simply go ahead and delete
5:09
the other external tasks that it's given you. There we go. So go with this
5:13
And then finally, you have uploaded to go with these. So there you go
5:17
You have tasks now. And in these actual tasks, you can tell people what to do
5:21
This is the lists and in the tasks, you can tell people that, okay, in this
5:26
we have to do that, in that, we have to do this. And then you have different views to this task as well
5:32
So in this, you can click on view and you have board views. So you can add sections
5:37
And in this section, you can name different things. To-do can be shifted over here
5:41
Depending can be shifted over here. So you get the whole point. But I feel much more comfortable
5:47
doing this kind of stuff in Trello because Trello will be much more faster
5:53
much more efficient. And I like the interface a whole lot better as well
5:58
And the actual moving of products is better too. Now, where Todoist takes the upper hand for me
6:04
is to be fair, the actual, you know, integrity of the switching of boards, okay
6:13
So you can duplicate your board and you can actually switch its views pretty simply
6:19
So there's list and board, two basic views, and you can actually sort their grouping
6:23
Trello, on the other hand, does give you customized views, but they are locked because, you know
6:29
you're on the free plan. Todoist, on the other hand, gives you a board and list view on both plans
6:35
So that's what I like about Todoist. It gives us an upper hand on those
6:39
And Todoist also gives us a better interface for task details. Now, if you come over here and we go into task details
6:47
this gives us a little bit of too much to start with, okay
6:51
So there's members, labels, checklists, dates, attachments. Now, obviously for me, this is pretty simple
6:56
because I've used Trello a lot. But for a person with the naked eye
7:02
they will have a bit of a difficulty understanding what's going on over here
7:05
They won't understand immediately whatever Trello is trying to tell them. So for people like them
7:12
this will be a bit difficult in the start. So that's why for a beginner
7:17
I'd say Todoist would shine for them. Todoist would give them a good idea
7:22
and it would be a better project management platform for actual beginners who are starting off
7:28
with project management and who are starting off with their actual work and task management
7:32
But people who actually have idea of this and people who've actually gotten
7:38
the basic concept of Trello, trust me, I would definitely urge all you users out there
7:44
to use Trello for life. Because Trello, although it is a bit complicated
7:50
with the whole features, it gives you automations, power-ups, all these things are pretty difficult
7:54
to understand in the start. But once you get an idea of them
7:58
trust me, these things are an absolute piece of cake. It's gonna give you the best idea of usage
8:06
and then you can delete the board pretty simply as well. Now, once it comes to this
8:11
you can re-archive your board, that's pretty simple. On Todoist, one other downside is that
8:18
once you've deleted a board, you can't really bring it back. So yeah, that's the main idea of Trello versus Todoist
8:24
Now, do let me know in the comments which one you prefer more
8:28
And that's pretty much about it from me. So if you enjoyed watching this video
