In this video, I'm going to show you 5 new WhatsApp features which have been announced

So currently, these are only available in the beta version and in the next few weeks

it'll be available to everyone. So I've got access to the beta program and now on my phone, I'll show you 5 of the top

new features. And also the program is currently full, so you won't be able to join, but I've given

So the first trick is editing a message. So I'm sure most of you would have gone through this, you'll have sent a message with a typo

and then you'll have to delete the entire message just to resend it again without the typo

Well, now there's no need to do that, because WhatsApp has come out with an edit feature

which allows you to edit a message within 15 minutes of sending it

So it's working is really simple. I'll show you how it works

So let's say you have this message with a typo, you've sent it

And now if you want to edit it, all you've got to do is long press, then click on the

three dots, which on the top right and select edit. And now as you can see, I can change the message

And now it's correct. So I'll just click on the tick. And now as you can see, the message has changed

And next to the time it's shown edited. So this is how it works

Once you've edited a message within 15 minutes of sending it, then it'll show edited next

to the time. So the person will know that it has been edited, but they can't go through the history and

see what you've edited it from to this. The next feature is the chat lock

So up till now, WhatsApp, they just had one lock, which was to enter the app

So once you've entered the password, then you're in the app and everything is open

But now you can individually lock chats. So it's working is really simple

You can put a lock for a group chat or a private chat

And then all of the locked chats, they'll go in a section on top

So similar to archive chats on top, there'll be a new section called lock chats

So let's say I want to lock this chat, then I'll have to go to the settings by clicking on it on top

then scroll down. And as you can see, there's an option called chat lock

So just click on it and then enable lock this chat with fingerprint

Then you'll have to put your fingerprint. So now this is my chat screen

And as you can see, the lock chats can't be seen. But if I scroll up, then the lock chats option has come

And if I click on it, then I have to scan my fingerprint to continue

And after doing this, I can see all of the lock chats

The next feature is silencing unknown callers. And personally, this is my favorite update

So now WhatsApp call has made it so easy to just call people across the world

And even personally, I've got so many random calls over the last few months

But what this feature does is that it automatically mutes calls from unknown numbers

So I think this is the first step in the direction of removing spam calls

So this, it doesn't block the call, it just mutes it. So you'll still find the call in the notification center, or if you go in the calls tab in WhatsApp

So it's pretty simple to enable. You just have to click on the three dots, which are on the top right

Then click on settings. In settings, you have to go to privacy, then scroll down

And you'll find a new option called calls. And if you click on it, then you can enable or disable this option, which is to silence

unknown callers. The next feature makes it extremely simple to transfer chats from one phone to another

So even if it's Android to Android, before this, you had to upload all of your data into

Google Drive. And then on the new phone, you had to download it

But now this new feature gets rid of Google Drive. So basically with this, you've got to switch on Wi-Fi, and your phone will look for nearby devices

Then on the new phone, you just log in with the same number, and you'll get a QR code

And once you scan it, the data will start transferring from your old phone to a new one

So I'll show you this option. Again, go to settings. After that, click on chats

Then scroll down, and you'll find an option called transfer chats. So just click on start

And over here, you can see the steps and then just scan this QR code

And the last feature is related to status. So WhatsApp has come out with a lot of small updates to make the status more like an Instagram story

So I'll show you the three to four changes they've made. And I'm sure you realize that this is exactly what Instagram stories are

So now I'm creating a status. And as you can see, in the bottom left, there's an option where I can decide who can see my status

So if I click on it, then you can see the three options

Then the next thing they've added is recording audio in your status

So you can record up to 30 seconds. So it's like a normal audio recording, just long press on it

And now you can record audio over here. And the last update is related to reacting to other statuses

So just like Instagram, where you can react with emojis, now you can do that in WhatsApp

So now if I go to a status and swipe up, as you can see, I can reply with these emojis
