In the past if you found the process of screen recording to be challenging and if you're an Edpuzzle user
0:06
then I have a workflow that I think is going to work really well for you
0:10
And that's using the Edpuzzle Chrome extension to create a screen recording video
0:15
So the first step for creating a screen recording inside Edpuzzle is to go to the Chrome Web Store
0:21
and download the Edpuzzle extension. You can see it right here, but I'll also add the link in the description
0:28
Once you click on this button to install the extension, you should see a..
0:38
You should now see the Edpuzzle add-on inside your Chrome extensions right over here
0:46
So let's say that I want to create a screencast about how to use the editing feature inside Edpuzzle
0:53
All I have to do is navigate to that Edpuzzle extension and the options for screencasting immediately pop up
1:02
I have a few options that you can see on the screen
1:06
I can record the tab, which is basically my browser window, the desktop, which is my laptop screen
1:13
or just create a video of myself using the camera that's attached to my MacBook
1:20
Now I don't have to do this. I can turn off my camera, which I'm going to do in this situation
1:27
but if I want to do a video where I have a screen recording and a video is in the bottom corner
1:33
I can do that with Edpuzzle. But once I'm ready, I'm just going to select Start Recording
1:41
and you'll notice the controls for my screencaster down here. I can stop the recording if I want. I can pause it
1:50
I can do several different things with the controls at the bottom
1:56
I can even move this control bar off or maybe hide it a little bit so it's out of view if I wanted to
2:05
But once this is completely finished and I'm done with my screen recording, I'm just going to hit the Stop button
2:14
There we go. My screen recording is now in my Edpuzzle account
2:19
If I wanted to, I could trim the beginning and the end, kind of like that
2:31
And then once I'm finished, I can just select Save, choose my thumbnail, adjust the privacy this way
2:42
and I'm ready to upload that video. And in just a few minutes, my video will be ready inside Edpuzzle
2:50
You'll notice now I can use some of the video editing features, such as the ability to cut this in different segments
2:57
I could add a voiceover if I wanted to, although it doesn't make much sense for this particular screencast
3:03
And finally, the part that I think would be beneficial would be adding those multiple choice questions
3:09
or adding whatever additional features that I could add to this video to make watching this lesson a little more interactive
3:16
Once I'm done, I could just select the Finish button, assign this to my class, and they're off watching
3:22
So it's a pretty easy process for screen recording. Like I said before, I know using some other screen recording options can be a little bit confusing because they involve so many different steps
3:33
This is a great option to create a quick screen recording, send it to your Edpuzzle, and add some of those interactive elements
3:40
which should hopefully save you a lot of time and add a lot of value to your individual lessons
3:47
So thanks for watching this video, and if you enjoyed it, please feel free to add a comment or subscribe
