US, Phoenix: Phoenix Police Grappler Stops Fleeing Suspect In Altima.

Phoenix, United States - July 05, 2026 07/05/2026 12:40 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – According to the Phoenix Police Department at the scene, officers attempted to stop a male suspect in a Nissan Altima. The suspect refused to yield during an attempted traffic stop. Officers were unable to confirm the exact location of the initial traffic stop attempt. With felony flight established, Phoenix Police Tactical Support Bureau units and the Phoenix police helicopter responded to assist. The Phoenix police helicopter quickly located the suspect's vehicle as it entered the southbound I-17 from Northern Avenue. The helicopter tracked the suspect from above while unmarked Tactical Support Bureau units followed at a distance. The suspect eventually exited the southbound I-17 at Durango Street. Tactical Support Bureau units converged on the suspect's vehicle as it approached 23rd Avenue and Durango Street. A Grappler Police Bumper was deployed, and the suspect's vehicle was brought to an abrupt stop. Additional unmarked TSB units arrived at the scene and quickly pinned the suspect's vehicle in place from the driver and passenger sides. A high-risk traffic stop was initiated, and the suspect was ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
