US, Phoenix: Phoenix 16th Street Law Enforcement Involved Collision.

Phoenix, United States - May 14, 2026 05/13/2026 07:03 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Phoenix Police Department and the Phoenix Fire Department responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a law enforcement officer at the intersection of 16th Street and Southern Avenue shortly after 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night. At the time of publication, it is unconfirmed which law enforcement agency was involved in the collision. A Ram pickup truck and a Ford Escape collided head-on on the north side of the intersection. Several hundred feet north of the collision scene, articles of clothing were observed in the roadway; however, it remains unclear if the clothing belonged to anyone involved in the incident. The Phoenix Police Department deployed its mobile command truck in a nearby parking lot as detectives began processing the scene. 16th Street was closed between Southern Avenue and Sunland Avenue to facilitate the investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
