US, Phoenix: Scottsdale Motorcyclist Crashes After Reportedly Fleeing From DPS.

Phoenix, United States - August 22, 2026 08/22/2026 02:15 am GMT-0700 SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – SCOTTSDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE: Via Linda is CLOSED between 110th Street and Cholla Street for a single-vehicle motorcycle traffic collision. The rider was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is currently listed in stable condition. The Scottsdale Police Department Vehicle Crimes and Reconstruction Unit is responding to the scene to investigate the collision. The roadway will be CLOSED until they have completed the on-scene investigation. According to initial unconfirmed information gathered at the scene, the motorcycle rider was fleeing from the Department of Public Safety through Scottsdale when the crash occurred. The Department of Public Safety's air unit was following the rider from overhead. Scottsdale Police Department officers were not actively involved in the Department of Public Safety pursuit. Our units assisted with the single-vehicle collision once that occurred.
