US, Phoenix: Phoenix I-17 Closed At Indian School Road Following Three Car Crash.

Phoenix, United States - September 10, 2026 09/09/2026 08:37 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Phoenix Fire Department responded to reports of a traffic collision in the southbound lanes of Interstate 17 between Camelback Road and Indian School Road around 8:35 p.m. Wednesday. According to unconfirmed information gathered at the scene, the call was initially reported as a disabled vehicle blocking the southbound travel lanes of Interstate 17. As troopers were responding to the location to assist, the disabled vehicle was struck by at least one other vehicle. Troopers arrived and located at least three vehicles involved in the collision across multiple lanes. All southbound traffic was stopped as troopers and firefighters began arriving and tending to the injured occupants. Firefighters reportedly had to extricate at least one person from a Mercedes-Benz with severe rear-end damage. At least three people were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. Troopers began diverting all southbound traffic to exit at Camelback Road as they directed the stuck traffic to drive wrong-way up the Camelback Road on-ramp. The closure is expected to remain in place as troopers await information regarding the extent of injuries to the occupants from hospital staff. A trooper was seen conducting a field sobriety test on one of the drivers; the results were not immediately known.
