US, Phoenix: Phoenix Police Use Grappler To Stop Fleeing Suspect In Chrysler 300.

Phoenix, United States - May 24, 2026 05/24/2026 01:15 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – According to Phoenix police at the scene, officers attempted to stop a Chrysler 300. The location of the initial stop is unclear. The suspect refused to yield and felony flight was established. The Phoenix police helicopter responded to assist and quickly located the suspect's vehicle. With air resources in place, a tactical surveillance operation was initiated, allowing unmarked units from the Phoenix Police Tactical Support Bureau to track the suspect from a distance while the helicopter followed overhead. Tactical Support Bureau resources approached the suspect's vehicle as it fled westbound on Dunlap Avenue near 21st Avenue. A Grappler Police Bumper was deployed by one of the Tactical Support Bureau units, successfully bringing the suspect's vehicle to an abrupt stop. The male driver and passenger immediately fled from the vehicle on foot following the Grappler deployment. Officers gave chase on foot while additional responding units established a perimeter in the area. Both the driver and passenger were apprehended a short time later without further incident.
