US, Phoenix: Phoenix Motorcycle Crash Closes Southbound Loop 101.

Phoenix, United States - June 19, 2026 06/19/2026 01:22 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – According to Arizona Department of Public Safety officials at the scene, troopers and Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of a motorcycle traffic collision in the southbound lanes of the Loop 101 near Thomas Road. Upon initial investigation, troopers learned that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended a pickup truck hauling a box trailer. The adult male rider suffered critical injuries as a result of the collision. He was transported to a local trauma center by Phoenix Fire Department personnel. The involved pickup truck exited the Loop 101 and stood by for Department of Public Safety troopers. Troopers established a hard closure for the southbound lanes of Loop 101, diverting all southbound traffic off the mainline at Thomas Road. The closure remained in place for multiple hours while troopers investigated the collision.
