US, Phoenix: Glendale Fatal Crash Closes Northbound Loop 101.

Phoenix, United States - August 30, 2026 08/29/2026 11:45 pm GMT-0700 GLENDALE, Ariz. – Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers, Glendale Fire Department, and Phoenix Fire Department responded to reports of a three-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of the Loop 101 near Cardinals Way. According to DPS officials at the scene, one unidentified victim was transported to a local trauma center and later pronounced deceased. A second unidentified victim was transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries. Impairment is being investigated as a possible contributing factor in the collision. A hard closure was established for the northbound lanes of the Loop 101, diverting traffic off the mainline at Camelback Road. The closure remained in place for several hours while the DPS Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives investigated the collision.
