US, Phoenix: Phoenix Van Buren Street Fatal SUV vs Pedestrian Crash.

Phoenix, United States - September 19, 2026 09/18/2026 06:54 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Phoenix Police Department and the Phoenix Fire Department were called to the intersection of 19th Avenue and Van Buren Street around 6:55 p.m. Friday after a pedestrian was struck by a Ford Expedition. Officers and firefighters arrived just west of the intersection and located an unidentified pedestrian who had been struck by the SUV. According to a Phoenix Police official at the scene, the pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital where they were later pronounced deceased. Detectives with the Phoenix Police Department's Vehicular Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began documenting the scene as they started the process of investigating the traffic collision. Police closed the intersection of 19th Avenue and Van Buren Street as detectives investigated the incident for several hours.
