US, Phoenix: Phoenix 59th Avenue Car vs Pedestrian Crash.

Phoenix, United States - July 19, 2026 07/18/2026 10:55 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Officers with the Phoenix Police Department and firefighters with the Phoenix Fire Department responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on 59th Avenue near West Encanto Boulevard shortly before 11:00 p.m. Saturday. Emergency crews arrived and located an unidentified pedestrian who had been struck by a Dodge Charger traveling northbound on 59th Avenue. According to information gathered at the scene, the pedestrian was transported in serious condition to a local area hospital by Phoenix Fire personnel. A second car was seen at the crime scene with the occupants speaking with officers; however, its involvement in the collision remains unknown. Police closed 59th Avenue between Encanto Boulevard and Virginia Avenue for several hours as detectives with the Phoenix Police Department's Vehicular Crimes Unit investigated the collision before concluding and reopening the roadway early Sunday morning.
