US, Phoenix: Phoenix Serious Semi-Truck Crash Prompts Haz-Mat Response.

Phoenix, United States - May 26, 2026 05/25/2026 09:30 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Phoenix Fire Department responded to assist the Arizona Department of Public Safety and Phoenix Police with a traffic collision at the intersection of 67th Avenue and Van Buren Street at 9:30 p.m. Monday. Firefighters arrived and located a collision involving three vehicles, two semi trucks, and a passenger car. According to initial unconfirmed information gathered at the scene, the passenger car ran the red light before colliding with the two semi trucks. Firefighters upgraded the incident to a hazardous material assignment due to one of the trucks’ fuel tanks leaking gallons of diesel onto the roadway. Firefighters evaluated the three injured patients; the two semi truck drivers declined transport to the hospital, while the driver of the passenger car was transported to a local area hospital in handcuffs. Police closed the intersection for several hours as firefighters gained control of the leaking diesel, and tow trucks were dispatched to the scene to clear the intersection.
