US, Phoenix: Phoenix Pedestrian Critically Injured In Hit And Run Collision.

Phoenix, United States - August 02, 2026 08/02/2026 02:00 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix police, Glendale police, and Phoenix fire crews responded to the area of Camelback Road and 43rd Avenue for reports of a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. Phoenix fire crews located the pedestrian near the 4200 block of West Camelback Road. According to Phoenix police at the scene, the pedestrian was transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries by Phoenix fire personnel. The victim was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene prior to the arrival of first responders. Glendale police assisted with initial traffic control efforts while Phoenix police assumed command of the crash investigation. A hard closure was established for Camelback Road, spanning from 41st Drive to 43rd Avenue. The Camelback Road off-ramp from Northwest Grand Avenue was also closed.
