US, Phoenix: Phoenix Suspects In Custody After Mercedes Chase.

Phoenix, United States - September 07, 2026 09/07/2026 01:20 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – According to Phoenix police at the scene, officers attempted to stop a speeding Mercedes sedan on the Northbound I-17 near Indian School Road. The driver of the sedan refused to yield to officers and felony flight was established. Phoenix Police Tactical Support Bureau resources and the Phoenix police helicopter responded to assist as the suspect continued north on the I-17 at high speeds. The Phoenix police helicopter located the vehicle a short time later near I-17 and Northern Avenue. With air resources overhead, a tactical surveillance operation was initiated, allowing the helicopter to track the suspect while ground units followed at a safe distance. The vehicle was tracked to a hotel on the northbound Black Canyon Access Road between Peoria Avenue and Cactus Road. The Mercedes came to a stop on the hotel property and multiple suspects fled on foot. One suspect surrendered near the vehicle and was quickly taken into custody. Two additional suspects were apprehended on the property a short time later.
