US, Phoenix: Phoenix DPS Pursuit Ends In Successful PIT Maneuver.

Phoenix, United States - June 13, 2026 06/13/2026 03:28 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – A Department of Public Safety (DPS) sergeant attempted to stop a speeding white Honda Civic traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near milepost 148. According to DPS, the driver refused to yield and fled from the sergeant at a high rate of speed while weaving between multiple lanes. Multiple troopers responded to assist as the pursuit made its way east on Interstate 10 near Sky Harbor. The suspect exited Interstate 10 at 40th Street, traveling southbound. The DPS sergeant conducted a Physical Immobilization Technique (PIT maneuver) on the suspect's vehicle as it approached Broadway Road. The PIT maneuver was successful and the suspect quickly lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway before coming to a stop in a landscaped area. The suspect immediately fled from the vehicle on foot, running southbound through an industrial area. Additional troopers and Phoenix Police Department resources responded to the area and began searching for the suspect. DPS later located the suspect hiding in a bush on a property located south of Broadway Road on 40th Street. He faces multiple charges including felony flight and reckless driving. Impairment is suspected.
