US, Phoenix: Phoenix Motorcyclist Arrested After DPS Pursuit.

Phoenix, United States - May 17, 2026 05/17/2026 01:13 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on the eastbound I-10 near Wild Horse Pass around 1:10 a.m. Sunday. As the trooper initiated his lights and sirens behind the motorcycle, the rider fled and felony flight was established. Troopers requested assistance from the Mesa Police Department’s helicopter "Falcon" as they continued eastbound on I-10. Falcon arrived overhead as troopers disengaged their lights and sirens and continued to follow the motorcycle at a distance while the air unit monitored its direction of travel from above. Eventually, the rider transitioned onto the SR-87 and returned to the Phoenix metropolitan area. The rider repeatedly crisscrossed freeways across Phoenix and Tempe before entering Sky Harbor Airport. Troopers converged as the rider entered a parking structure before the rider exited westbound on Buckeye Road from the airport. The rider continued westbound on Buckeye Road before coming to a stop at a gas station at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Buckeye Road. Troopers arrived and quickly took the male rider into custody.
