US, Phoenix: Phoenix Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Impairment After Striking Pedestrian.

Phoenix, United States - May 20, 2026 05/19/2026 11:20 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix police and Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision near the 2800 block of West Cactus Road. According to Phoenix police, an adult male was struck in the eastbound lanes of Cactus Road. The male was transported to a local trauma center with serious injuries. The adult female driver that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene. Officers administered a series of field sobriety tests. The female was arrested on suspicion of impairment following the conclusion of the tests. A closure was established for the eastbound lanes of Cactus Road between 28th Drive and Interstate 17 while the incident was investigated.
