US, Phoenix: Mesa Suspect In Custody After SWAT Standoff.

Phoenix, United States - June 11, 2026 06/10/2026 09:55 PM GMT-0700 MESA, Ariz. – Around 9:55 PM Wednesday, officers from the Mesa Police Department SWAT team converged on a house in the 1900 block of West Dartmouth Street. A Mesa Police sergeant at the scene stated that officers were conducting a search warrant after a homeowner threatened neighbors with a bow and arrow. SWAT officers surrounded the residence and used a loudspeaker to issue verbal commands for the suspect to exit. When the suspect did not comply, officers broke windows with baton rounds and deployed chemical agents inside the house. After approximately an hour, officers utilized their armored Bearcat with a battering ram to further break the windows and release additional gas into the home. Finally, officers detonated a breaching charge on a rear entrance to the house. The suspect then exited from a side entrance and surrendered before being taken into custody.
