US, Los Angeles: Reseda Suspect Surrenders After Barricade Standoff.

Los Angeles, United States - May 17, 2026 05/17/2026 03:00 PM GMT-0700 RESEDA, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A barricaded suspect situation ended in the 19000 block of Valerio Street. The standoff began early this afternoon, around 3 PM. Initial reports indicated that the suspect was wanted on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, and was believed to be armed with a rifle. Officers evacuated nearby homes as a precaution. The SWAT team was called to the scene and deployed multiple rounds of gas into the residence. Eventually, SWAT members forced entry into the home, and the suspect surrendered, sustaining lacerations to his face. He was taken to Northridge Hospital, where reports indicated he was involved in altercations with hospital staff. Officers were required to respond again to assist their colleagues at the hospital due to the situation involving the suspect.
