US, Phoenix: Buckeye Father Dead Teen Daughter Injured In Double Shooting With Sound On Tape.

Phoenix, United States - August 27, 2026 08/27/2026 12:50 am GMT-0700 BUCKEYE, Ariz. – Buckeye police and Buckeye fire crews responded to reports of a shooting near the 1600 block of North 214th Lane shortly after midnight. According to Buckeye Police Department Public Information Officer Carissa Planalp, officers arrived at the scene and located a 17-year-old female gunshot victim. Officers rendered aid to the victim until fire crews arrived at the scene. The victim was then transported to a local hospital, where her injuries have been deemed non-life threatening. Officers then located an adult male gunshot victim, identified as the teen girl's father, inside the involved residence. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire personnel. An off-duty Buckeye police sergeant was in uniform driving home in her patrol vehicle when she heard the call for service. The sergeant was a short distance from the call address and immediately responded. Upon arrival, multiple witnesses approached the sergeant and pointed out the shooting suspect. That sergeant quickly made contact with the suspect and took them into custody. A firearm was recovered from the suspect upon arrest. Upon further investigation, officers learned that the shooting occurred during an altercation inside the home. The home is described as a split family home with multiple residents. The scene has been handed over to Buckeye police detectives.
