The California Highway Patrol received multiple reports of a vehicle that went off the road and into an embankment between the exit for Huntington Drive and the transition to the westbound 210 freeway. The initial call came in around 10:54 PM, indicating a possible solo vehicle crash. Witnesses reported that the vehicle had been swerving before the collision occurred. The response involved the dispatch of units to locate the vehicle, which was identified as being down the right side embankment. By 11:05 PM, air support was requested to assist in assessing the situation. Ground units arrived on the scene shortly afterward, around 11:12 PM, confirming that the vehicle was not on the railroad tracks. The driver sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. A tow service was called to the scene, with an estimated arrival time of about 20 minutes. It was noted that access for the tow would require direction from Duarte at Highland.
