US, Los Angeles: Bell Gardens Crash Halts 710 Freeway.

Los Angeles, United States - August 21, 2026 08/21/2026 02:05 am GMT-0700 BELL GARDENS, Calif. – A five-vehicle crash early Friday shut down all southbound lanes of the 710 Freeway just south of East Slauson Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident log. The collision was first reported shortly after 2 a.m. and initially involved multiple vehicles blocking at least one traffic lane, according to the California Highway Patrol computer-aided dispatch. By 2:21 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported five vehicles were involved and requested medical aid. The California Highway Patrol log indicated a possible Ford Mustang and a box truck were among the vehicles involved. Both were reported to have major front-end damage. A Kia SUV involved in the crash was reported to have a broken axle. The California Highway Patrol also reported debris from the collision was struck by another vehicle, causing the debris to hit and shatter that vehicle’s windshield. All southbound lanes were stopped as emergency crews responded to the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol computer-aided dispatch. The Los Angeles County Fire Department was also notified of the collision. Tow trucks were requested for multiple damaged vehicles. No additional information regarding injuries was immediately available in the California Highway Patrol traffic incident log.
