The closure affects the westbound lanes at the Polk Street overpass, with traffic being diverted to the 118 Freeway. Additionally, the transition from the eastbound 118 Freeway to the westbound 210 Freeway is also closed due to police activity. According to initial unconfirmed information gathered at the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department reported that officers arrived after receiving reports of a man armed with a gun during an attempted carjacking at the Polk Street overpass. At some point during the incident, an officer fired shots. One suspect was taken into custody, and a gun was recovered.
