US, Los Angeles: Claremont Wrong-Way Crash on I-10 Leads to Traffic Jam.

Los Angeles, United States - May 20, 2026 05/20/2026 03:54 am GMT-0700 CLAREMONT, Calif. – California Highway Patrol from the Baldwin Park and Rancho Cucamonga stations responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a white SUV traveling the wrong way on the eastbound Interstate 10 freeway in Montclair. The calls noted the SUV was heading westbound in the eastbound lanes near Central Avenue. Further calls alerted the California Highway Patrol to a traffic collision involving the wrong-way vehicle, which occurred just east of Indian Hill Boulevard. The white SUV collided with a black vehicle, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles. The driver of the black vehicle was transported to a local hospital with an unknown condition. The female driver of the white SUV was examined by firefighters at the scene but was not transported. The California Highway Patrol is conducting a DUI test on the driver of the white SUV. Currently, only the slow lane is open for eastbound traffic on the Interstate 10 freeway, and a SigAlert has been issued for one hour. It is unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the incident.
