US, Los Angeles: Hawthorne Woman Trapped In Destructive Crash.

Los Angeles, United States - August 08, 2026 08/08/2026 02:44 am GMT-0700 HAWTHORNE, Calif. – A woman was hospitalized early Saturday after a pickup truck slammed into a Department of Motor Vehicles fence and was left mangled following a crash in the 3700 block of West El Segundo Boulevard. The crash was reported just before 3 a.m. The woman was transported alive, although her condition was not immediately known. The driver may have also been transported, but that could not immediately be confirmed. Authorities conducted field sobriety tests on the driver at the scene. It was not immediately known whether alcohol or drugs were suspected, and no arrest had been confirmed. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Preliminary information indicated no other vehicles were believed to have been involved.
