US, Los Angeles: Simi Valley DUI Tesla Driver Crashes Into Ventura County Fire Engine.

Los Angeles, United States - September 27, 2026 09/27/2026 02:34 am GMT-0700 SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – Ventura County Fire crews and California Highway Patrol officers from the Moorpark office were on scene investigating a traffic collision on the eastbound 118 Freeway at Tapo Canyon Road when an additional crash occurred. A Tesla drove through the CHP’s flare pattern and collided with Ventura County Fire Department Engine 46. The number of firefighters on board the engine at the time of the collision remains unclear, but the engineer was transported to Los Robles Hospital for unknown injuries. The Tesla driver was taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence. There is no confirmation on whether the vehicle was operating on autopilot during the crash.
