So in this video I'm going to show you how you can use your phone as a remote
0:04
whenever you're using a presentation in Canva. You can do all kinds of cool
0:08
things. But before we do feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel where
0:15
each week I'll be uploading new videos on a variety of different topics. So
0:22
let's learn how to use our remote to control a Canva presentation kind of
0:25
like this one. So all you'll do is just select present and then select the
0:30
button to present and put your slideshow in a full screen view kind of like this
0:34
Now this is what I had done in the past but I just went through and clicked on
0:38
each slide one by one like this. This may work fine but it's a lot easier when you
0:43
can use your phone as a remote. So to do this what you'll do is create your
0:48
presentation put it in full screen even before you present at the venue that
0:51
you're going to do this at and you want to select this button right down here
0:56
this little ellipse at the bottom and choose this option that says share
0:59
remote control. From here it's going to give you a link you'll want to select
1:04
copy link and then what you want to do is share that link with yourself. Either
1:09
email it to yourself or if you use a program like notes just take that
1:14
address and paste it in a note and then you can open that note from your phone. So that's one thing you have to make sure that you send the link to yourself. Okay
1:21
so now once I'm ready to present in front of an audience I just have to take
1:25
my phone and open the link that I sent to myself. If you remember I added it in
1:29
a note that I can access on my computer and on my phone so I'm just going to click on that link. It's going to take me to a website that basically just says
1:37
that the presenter has left the session. Once it reconnects it's going to allow
1:41
me to use my phone as the remote. So let's do that I'm going to go to my presentation and I'm going to select present. There we go instantly you notice
1:50
that my phone now says connected and it's going to allow me to advance the
1:55
slides. This is great because you're no longer stuck in one area just clicking
1:58
on a mouse advancing to the next slide. You can move all around the venue and
2:02
still have your phone as a remote. Now let me show you some of the really cool
2:06
magic shortcuts that you can do. Here is confetti. We also have a drumroll. Other
2:14
things like a curtain to close if you would like and then you can also reopen
2:19
it. Some other cool things on here as well there's our mic drop. We have some
2:25
bubbles and then finally we have a screen blur in case we need this for any
2:32
reason. But again just a really easy way something that is going to be really
2:37
helpful if you're planning to present using your phone with Canva. Once you are
2:42
finished you can end the presentation and your remote will go to inactive. So
2:50
remember once you launch your presentation in full screen just click on the three dots at the bottom select share remote control copy that link
2:57
share it in a location where you can access on any device to control your
3:01
Canva slides with another device like a phone. I hope this video has been helpful
