You gotta try Canva's New Text-to-Video AI Generator!

Behind me, you can see some incredible short videos created by the AI Media Generator app in Canva

known as Magic Media. You simply describe what you want your video to be about and it will generate it for you

And it can even turn generated images into videos. And the best part is that you can try this feature if you have a Canva account that is free

pro or for teams. There are some limitations though, but I'll talk about them at the end of this video

Let me show you how to access magic media from desktop. Go to Canva.com and on the homepage go to the menu on the left and click apps

At the moment there is a huge banner dedicated to Magic Media

So if you see it, you can click on this button that says Try Magic Media

If you don't see this banner, you can search for the app with the search bar, so type Magic Media

This is the app that we are going to use today, so click here

It will open this window that says that magic media is created by Canva

You can turn your creative ideas into images and videos. So this app, this AI feature that I'm going to show you today

is able to generate videos and also images. Let me see what else it says in here

It says create compelling images and videos from simple descriptions and even turn generated images into videos

So you can turn the images that you create with this app into videos

I'll show you how to do it later. It also says that is for ages 13 and above, unless supervised, and that video is powered by Runway

You then have two different actions. You can use this app in an existing design or in a new design

I'm going to create a new design this time, so I'm going to click on this button, and then I'm going to select the document type that I want to create

I'm going to use a presentation document, 16 by 9, so I'm going to click here

I'm going to click here. Now we are inside the editor and the magic media app is opened

With this magic media app, you can create images by entering a text prompt and you can also create

videos. When the app opens will be automatically under the images section. But if you want to

create videos out of a text description, you simply need to click on videos. As you can see, this is a new

feature and it is also a beta one. Now let me show you another way to access this magic media app

Let's say that you are already inside the editor you are working on a project and you need to create

a video with this magic feature. You need to go to apps, this is inside the editor and then you are going

to search for magic media. It enter and then the app is right here. Click one time and then it will

open on the left panel. Something you need to have into consideration before you start playing

around with this tool is that you have limited credits. If you are using a Canva free account

you will be able to use it five times lifetime. And if you have a Canva Pro account, Canva for

teams or Canva for non-profits, you will have 50 credits per month. That means you will be able

to create 50 videos per month. Now let me show you how to use this tool

First, I'm going to show you how to use the text to video feature and then I'll show you how you can also use the text to image feature to create videos

First, let's open the videos tab and from here you simply need to describe the scene that you want to generate

You can include colors, places and movement. This is the prompts that I'm going to use today, Rise Terrace during sunset

and then you just need to click on generate video. Your video will be ready in one to two minutes and you can still work on your project

while the video is being generated. You can go to different tabs on your design, you can continue

working on it and then come back to Magic Media. You will see that it is still working in the background

Once your video is ready you can preview it from here by hovering on top of the video and then if you want to bring it to your design simply click on it you will see that your credit count will go down every time you generate a new video i have

already created two videos so that's why i have 48 credits remaining if you want to generate

another video using the same prompt you can click generate again or if you want to go back

to the previous page simply click go back now let me show you the video

Something else that I want to show you here is the length of these videos

These are four seconds and if you want to trim your video you can do it from here

So simply click on the scissors button and if there is something that doesn't look nice

you can simply trim it and hit done. At the moment these videos will be generated by default in a landscape

mode but later I'm gonna show you a simple trick that you can use to select a different aspect ratio

like square or a portrait one something cool about this feature is that every time you generate

a new video and you bring it to your design this video will be saved under your uploads section so

if I were to go to uploads and then select videos the video will be saved here now how can you

download this video to your computer. You can download it as a file so let's say that you are

working on a design and you have your video here. Click share, download, make sure to select

MP4 video or give if you want and then select download. Another way is that you can go to

uploads, go to videos and when you hover on your video you will see these three dots

Click here and then select downloads. Now I have the video file

on my computer, this is a file, and something else that I want to show you about this file

You can see it is four seconds, and now let me show you something about the information

of this file. And then under more info, we will see the dimensions of this video

This one is 896 by 512. This is just to show you that this is not a high definition video

but I mean this feature is still in beta, and all of these artificial intelligence technology is fairly new

So this can get only better with time. Now let me show you how you can generate images

with the same app, Magic Media, and then turn them into videos

You're gonna open the Magic Media app and then make sure that you are under the Images tab

You will see here that it says text to image. In this box, you are going to describe

the image you want to generate. In my case I want an anime cat walking on the street

Below this box you will see that you can choose from different styles and different aspect ratios

I'm going to open the styles tab or the style section by selecting Seol and this is going to

help me control the outcome of the image because I have different options to choose from

so it is easier for me to tell Canva what kind of image I'm expecting

In this case, I want something that is related to anime. So I'm going to select this option

It is under digital art. And then below styles, you will see aspect ratio

This is the place where you can adjust the aspect ratio of the videos created with this artificial intelligence

So let's go for a square aspect ratio. this time and then i'm going to generate my image and pay attention in here because for the text

to image we have more credits instead of 50 credits like we saw under the video tab we have this time

500 credits and for every credit this app will generate four images for us this means that we will

have a little bit more control over the outcome because we can play around with these generations So let create this image Now pay attention we have four different images generated by text to image

And if we go down, we will see that now I have 499 credits

It charged me only one credit to generate these four different images

I can bring these images to my design and then see which one I can use to create my video

Okay, this one is not going to be. the one because the tail is not connected to the cat's body so i'm left with these three i really

like this one because we see it actually moving there is one of the legs up in the air so i really like

that i'm going to go for this one so i'm going to delete this other two options and leave this one here

just for reference once you know which image you want to use to generate a video simply go back to

this window click on the three dots of that image and then generate video this will open the

video step and now image to video will be running in the back we just need to wait one to two

minutes and then we'll have the video ready and the video is ready so let me bring the video to my

design so you can see it better okay this is not the best video creation something else you have

to consideration is that every time you use image to video, one of the video credits will be

deducted. So I already have created three different videos and that's why I have 47 left

I didn't quite like this video so I am under the images tab and I'm going to try to generate

another video from the same image. So clicking again on the three dots and then generate video

The video is ready but it is not better from the first version

Let me show you the first one. And now let me show you the new version of the video

It's still not a video that I would like to use on any of my projects, but I mean we are

still at the beginning of this journey. So I really have big hopes for this text to video and image to video feature

Now I would like to test one more time the same. prompt that I use for the text to image but this time I'm going to use it directly under

the videos tab so let me go back and instead of using image to video I'm going to use

text to video I personally have seen that every time that I use image to video the videos

are slightly off they look very weird like for example let me show you in this video

we start with the same frame as the image selected but then the image starts morphing into a different one we don't see the same cut in a different position we see a completely different cut in a different position like for example in here we see something that looks like a fox but it's not the same cut let me delete this now we have the clip from text to video let me show it to you this video is still not great is not an anime cut it looks more

like a realistic cut and it also morphs into a completely different cut than the one that we see at the

beginning but i believe the outcome is slightly better than the one we saw from image to video and i know

that these couple of examples that i just showed you are not the best but i've been testing this feature

yesterday a lot and i came up with a couple of good videos these are still still

not amazing but I want to show you what you can create with text to video in Canva

So you will see the video in here and the prompt right below

So this is an astronaut walking on the moon. This is a pretty simple prompt and this is what I got

I used exactly the same prompt and I generated this image with text to image

And then I generated these two videos with image to videos So let me show you the results this is another video that i was able

to generate with text to video you can see the prompt right below i really like it it has really nice

colors nice texture and the animal looks real it's just low quality but i mean this one is good i also really

liked this dinosaur claymation video clip that I was able to create. I really think it looks cute

and it looks kind of like a real cartoon just low quality. I also gave it a shot to animations

which is not bad and these are some of my favorite these flower animations and again I believe

this technology works by using one image and then morphing that image into a

different one. We can see this example very clear in this video because we start with this image

with a lot of different flowers and then at the end of the video we end with this frame in which we

only see one or maybe two flowers on the frame and if we go slowly we see how that initial frame

morphes into four different flowers and then those flowers become just one

It is not what I asked for but kind of it is because I asked for a colorful flower animation

So I mean, you can let me know what you think in the comments. Now look at this one

I really, really like this one. And what do we think about this animated blob pattern

I really liked it. So I tried the same prompt but with a different color

And this is what I got, a pink blob pattern. I tried to generate exactly the same

same video one more time and this is what I got. This is another rise terrace during sunset

And this is another one that I really liked. A beautiful sunset on the Himaleges Mountains

This is another anime cat walking on the street on manga style

This one was generated as an image first and then I converted the image into a video

So this is the result. As you can see, we see three different cuts in the same video

So this will be one cut, this would be a second cut

and then at the end we see a third cut. Now coming back to the editor one more time
