Hey everyone, welcome to EdTechHustle. My name is Rich and today we're going to learn how to
0:04
create a better slideshow using Canva's Beat Sync feature. So here's an example of a slideshow that
0:11
I put together with a number of different images from students. Now what I want to do is to add
0:18
music underneath. In this case, I'm going to, I uploaded an audio track and I'm just going to
0:24
click on that audio track to put as the soundtrack to my slideshow. Now something you may also
0:30
consider doing is clicking the audio tab inside Canva and selecting a number of different tracks
0:36
that are made available for you as a creator. Just one thing that you may want to keep in mind is if
0:42
you have a YouTube channel and you're looking to monetize that video, sometimes these don't
0:47
make it through the checks. You won't get a copyright strike, but many times you'll receive
0:52
a notification, which makes it impossible for you to monetize. The creator of the song is the one
0:58
who is able to monetize from your video. So just something to keep in mind. So if I play this just
1:04
a little bit, you will notice that each of the tracks play for about five seconds each. They
1:11
don't really change based on the music. And if you're trying to create a really good engaging
1:17
slideshow, you'll want your images and your media to change based on the different changes in the
1:23
music or the different beats. Now you can do that by kind of listening and sort of adjusting each
1:29
individual clip, or you can do what I'm going to show you now. And that is a new feature in Canva
1:35
released last fall, and that is called Beat Sync. So I'm just going to select my audio track
1:41
I'm going to navigate to the top of the page, and I'm going to select Beat Sync, and I'm going to
1:47
turn on the feature that says Sync Now. You can see what it says. Your pages and elements will be
1:51
automatically timed to the music. So here we go. Now it says everything is synced to the beat. Now
1:59
five seconds was a pretty good length for each one of these individual pages. It doesn't look
2:03
like it changed by that much, about two-tenths of a second or so. So I'm going to go ahead and
2:10
play it. So now when I go and play this, like if I play it right around here
2:22
So it automatically timed those images to the song. If I chose a different song
2:28
it would probably adjust each one of those to a different length. Now, if I listen to that song
2:34
again, and there's a certain part that I want to have each of the images changed to, you'll notice
2:39
at the bottom here, these are beat markers. These are the different beats of the song
2:43
So if I wanted to change my images at every, let's say every one of these third beats here
2:48
I can just kind of take my slide, manually adjust it, sort of like that. Do the same
2:54
thing over here. Change this right around here, and let's even take this one here
3:00
Okay, let's go to the beginning. Here we go. Right here. So just a really quick feature that takes literally a second to turn that beat sync
3:19
feature on, and I feel that this will make your slideshows more engaging and more fun for your
3:24
audience to watch. Thank you so much for watching this video. If you have any questions, leave them
