US, Phoenix: Phoenix South Mountain Loop 202 Fiery Crash.

Phoenix, United States - September 20, 2026 09/20/2026 03:45 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers and Phoenix fire crews responded to reports of a fiery collision in the northbound lanes of the South Mountain Loop 202 near Elliot Road. According to DPS officials at the scene, troopers arrived to find a two-vehicle collision involving a Toyota Tacoma and a Dodge Ram that was hauling a loaded gooseneck trailer. The involved Dodge Ram and trailer were engulfed in heavy flames, prompting a temporary full closure for all northbound traffic. The driver of the Dodge Ram is an adult male. He was found outside the pickup with serious burn injuries. He was transported to a local trauma center by Phoenix fire personnel. The unidentified driver of the involved Toyota was evaluated at the scene. It is unknown if they were hospitalized. Several Phoenix firefighters responded to the scene to assist with extinguishing the burning pickup truck and trailer. DPS released the full closure once the fire was mostly extinguished and maintained a partial lane closure affecting the HOV and number one lanes.
