Phoenix, United States - August 10, 2026 08/09/2026 09:00 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Footage contains extensive storm damage from multiple locations throughout the City of Phoenix. At approximately 8:30 PM, a severe monsoon thunderstorm approached the Phoenix Metro area bringing heavy rain and damaging wind gusts. The National Weather Service issued the following alert to residents in the storms path: “National Weather Service: SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING in effect for this area until 9:15 PM MST for DESTRUCTIVE 80 mph winds. Take shelter in a sturdy building, away from windows. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter.” The storm left a path of destruction as it moved west across the valley. Nearly 50,000 customers from both Arizona Public Service (APS) and Salt River Project (SRP) were without power following the initial impact of the storm. Timestamps / locations: 0:00 – 0:49 Heavy rain near Dunlap Avenue and I-17 (Metro Center area) 0:49 – 2:04 Multiple downed power poles leave Valley Metro bus stranded on Hatcher Road near 14th Avenue 2:04 – 2:53 Multiple downed power poles along Peoria Avenue west of 19th Avenue. 2:53 – 3:12 Multiple downed power poles along 43rd Avenue north of Dunlap Avenue. 3:12 – 6:19 extensive storm damage in the area along Northern Avenue between 31st Avenue and 35th Avenue. 6:19 to 6:58 large street sign pole toppled by heavy winds blocking the southbound lanes of 7th Street south of Hatcher Road.
