US, Los Angeles: Valinda Fire Breaks Out at Abandoned School.

Los Angeles, United States - August 27, 2026 08/26/2026 10:59 pm GMT-0700 VALINDA, Calif. – The Los Angeles County Fire Department, along with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department from the Industry station, responded to a report of a fire at an abandoned school located at 635 North California Avenue in Valinda. Upon arrival, firefighters and sheriff deputies encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from an abandoned classroom. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 30 to 45 minutes. One classroom was destroyed, while a second classroom sustained major smoke damage. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department has requested an arson investigator to respond to the location for further investigation. No firefighters were injured during the incident. At this time, it is also unclear how long the school has been abandoned. The name of the school is Temple Academy.
