US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita Child Near-Drowning Victim Flown By Helicopter To Hospital Following CPR.

Los Angeles, United States - August 09, 2026 08/08/2026 06:13 pm GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A 5-year-old child was rescued from a community pool in Santa Clarita Saturday evening, with CPR reportedly in progress before the child was airlifted to a pediatric trauma center. The incident was reported at approximately 6:13 p.m. at a community pool in the Skyline Ranch neighborhood. Initial reports to 911 indicated the child was unconscious and CPR was in progress following a reported drowning. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene while a Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter, already in the area after assisting crews battling the Tasha Fire in the Newhall Pass, was dispatched from Camp 9 to assist with the emergency. Copter 21 landed at Skyline Ranch Park, where the child was transferred aboard and airlifted to a pediatric trauma center for further treatment. The child’s current condition was not immediately available. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
