Los Angeles, United States - May 13, 2026 05/13/2026 09:31 am GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – At least 13 people were injured this morning after a gravel truck slammed into a Santa Clarita Transit bus before crashing into two additional vehicles, leaving one car pinned beneath the truck and one person trapped in the wreckage. The crash happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Centre Pointe Parkway and Golden Valley Road in Santa Clarita. According to initial unconfirmed information gathered at the scene, the fully loaded gravel truck was traveling northbound on Golden Valley Road when it failed to negotiate a right turn onto eastbound Centre Pointe Parkway and collided with the city bus. The impact sent the truck into two nearby vehicles, with one car ending up partially trapped beneath the gravel truck. Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters requested 10 ambulances to the scene as crews treated at least 13 patients. One person was reported in critical condition, while nine others suffered injuries described as less severe. The conditions of the remaining patients were not immediately available. The intersection remained closed as of 10:30 a.m. while emergency crews continued rescue efforts and investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash.
