US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita Man Arrested After Crash Causes Power Outage in Newhall.

Los Angeles, United States - May 25, 2026 05/25/2026 02:08 am GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A man was arrested after crashing his car in the Newhall Area of Santa Clarita. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputies and Firefighters responded to the intersection of Lyons Avenue and Newhall Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. for a reported solo vehicle traffic collision. Upon arrival, Deputies located a red Ford Mustang, which had collided with an electrical box near the Lyons gas station. The collision with the electrical box resulted in a power outage, which affected a large portion of the Newhall Area. Firefighters who responded to the scene reported no injuries to the man driving the car. Shortly after assessing the driver, Firefighters began to tape off areas surrounding the collision to maintain public safety until the arrival of Public Works. Deputies at the scene conducted an in-depth DUI investigation on the man. The investigation consisted of several field sobriety tests and the usage of a Preliminary Alcohol Screening (PAS) device, also known as a breathalyzer. Upon completion of this investigation, Deputies took the man into custody.
