US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita Kidnapping Victim Rescued and Suspect in Custody Following Pursuit.

Los Angeles, United States - August 23, 2026 08/22/2026 10:30 pm GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A woman was rescued and a suspect taken into custody following a reported kidnapping that led to a short pursuit late Saturday night in the Saugus area of Santa Clarita. The incident began near Bouquet Canyon Road and Lenny Drive when Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a domestic violence call at approximately 10:30 p.m. While details of the initial incident are unclear, deputies were called back to the location around 11:20 p.m. regarding a reported kidnapping. A caller on the line with 911 indicated a woman was inside the suspect's car, screaming for help, and had been reportedly kidnapped. Sheriff's Deputies quickly located the suspect's vehicle, a dark-colored Honda sedan, traveling on Rock Canyon Road in a nearby neighborhood. Although deputies initially lost sight of the vehicle, they requested backup. Shortly afterward, the suspect's vehicle was found near Paragon Drive. When deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect exited and fled on foot. A foot pursuit ensued through the neighborhood before deputies apprehended the suspect. The victim was safely rescued by deputies. Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were requested to treat both the suspect and the victim for any injuries they may have sustained during the incident. The victim was evaluated by paramedics but was not transported to the hospital. It is unknown if she sustained any injuries during the incident. The suspect was also evaluated by paramedics and later transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
