US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita Deputies Takedown Felony Vandalism After Chase Through Neighborhood.

Los Angeles, United States - July 21, 2026 07/20/2026 05:56 pm GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Deputies pursued a felony vandalism suspect through a Santa Clarita neighborhood Tuesday evening shortly before 6 p.m. The incident began near the 28700 block of Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus when deputies responded to a report of a man vandalizing an RV. The suspect was described as a White male, approximately 50 years old, wearing a gray shirt and black pants. Deputies located the described suspect near the intersection of Skyline Ranch Road and Whites Canyon Road. A foot pursuit ensued as the suspect fled behind a fire station and up a nearby hill. In response, deputies began shutting down the area to conduct a search for the suspect. After about 20 minutes, they found him in a nearby neighborhood near Olympic Crest Drive and Eagles Crest Drive. Residents watched in awe as the suspect ran through backyards of homes before the chase continued to Canyon Crest Drive and Saddleback Ridge Road, where deputies ultimately surrounded him and performed a takedown. The suspect was successfully taken into custody. Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were requested to evaluate the suspect for any injuries sustained during the chase. He was released back to deputies shortly after the paramedics' response. During the pursuit, the suspect abandoned a dog he had with him. Deputies later located the dog and took it into custody after the incident.
