US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita Knight Wildfire Burns Near Bridgeport Homes Part 2.

Los Angeles, United States - May 22, 2026 05/21/2026 07:02 PM GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A brush fire broke out along the Santa Clara River near the Bridgeport community in Valencia this evening, prompting a multi-agency response and aerial firefighting operations. The fire was reported shortly after 7 PM south of homes near Valencia Boulevard in the 23700 block of Auto Center Court, according to initial unconfirmed information gathered at the scene. Firefighters arriving at the scene reported difficult access conditions as crews worked to reach the burning vegetation along the riverbed. Due to the terrain and access issues, a helicopter was requested to assist with firefighting efforts. The Los Angeles County Fire Department Copter 22 responded and made several water drops on the fire to slow its spread and assist crews on the ground. The fire was stopped before reaching nearby homes in the Bridgeport neighborhood and held to 1.5 acres. Preliminary information indicates the fire is believed to have been human-caused. The incident remains under investigation.
