US, Los Angeles: Pomona CHP Officers Save House From Burning.

Los Angeles, United States - August 12, 2026 08/12/2026 01:44 am GMT-0700 POMONA, Calif. – Multiple 911 calls about a brush fire prompted the California Highway Patrol (CHP) from the Baldwin Park station and the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) to respond this morning to the northbound 71 Freeway, just north of Valley Boulevard in Pomona. CHP officers arrived within minutes and discovered a large brush fire, with heavy smoke and flames spreading toward the rear of a residence located at 1210 Laurel Avenue. An officer quickly jumped over the wall and knocked on the door to alert the residents of the imminent danger. The officer then grabbed a hose from the residence and began to douse the flames. With the help of the hose, the CHP officers were able to extinguish most of the fire and prevent it from spreading further until firefighters arrived on scene. No residents or CHP officers were injured in the incident. The CHP and fire officials are currently investigating the cause of the brush fire.
