Los Angeles, United States - September 16, 2026 09/15/2026 07:15 pm GMT-0700 CHATSWORTH, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Emergency crews responded to a reported helicopter crash near the intersection of De Soto Avenue and Nordhoff Street this evening. The first units to arrive reported an unknown make and type of helicopter had crash-landed between two commercial buildings, creating a large plume of flames visible from the scene. The fire from the crash threatened four nearby vehicles. Firefighters launched an offensive attack on the blaze, while emergency crews assessed patients and began medical triage. Initial reports suggested the aircraft might have been a news helicopter, and that has now been confirmed. The number and extent of injuries remain unknown; however, initial reports indicate that possibly two people from the helicopter were found deceased at the scene, with one person on the ground. Los Angeles Police Department personnel were also responding to the scene.
