US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita Soto Fire Threatens Homes and Nearby School.

Los Angeles, United States - August 07, 2026 08/06/2026 10:09 pm GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Los Angeles County firefighters and sheriff's deputies responded to a reported brush fire near the 23800 block of Newhall Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday in the Newhall area of Santa Clarita. Upon arrival, firefighters found a large fire directly behind a nearby mobile home park, storage facility, and apartment complex. Firefighters quickly began efforts to extinguish the fire, which was rapidly spreading up the hill toward a local school. The fire grew to approximately three-quarters of an acre before firefighters successfully contained it. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
