US, Los Angeles: Pomona Brush Fire Near 71 Fwy.

Los Angeles, United States - August 08, 2026 08/07/2026 09:00 pm GMT-0700 POMONA, Calif. – Numerous 911 calls reported a brush fire on the northbound 71 Freeway at the Holt Avenue exit in Pomona. Emergency responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD), California Highway Patrol (CHP), and Pomona Police Department (PD) arrived at the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters identified a large brush fire on the right shoulder of the off-ramp. Initially, they faced challenges in accessing the fire. However, they were able to extinguish the flames within 30 to 40 minutes of receiving the call. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with Pomona PD and LACoFD collaborating on the inquiry.
