US, Los Angeles: Lancaster Possible Shooting or Stabbing Victim Drives Through DUI Checkpoint.

Los Angeles, United States - May 23, 2026 05/22/2026 11:13 pm GMT-0700 Lancaster – At approximately 11:13 p.m., the California Highway Patrol requested the Los Angeles County Fire Department to respond to a DUI checkpoint in Lancaster for a victim with a serious leg injury. CHP and Lancaster Police Department personnel were applying a tourniquet to the victim’s leg when firefighters arrived at Avenue J just east of 20th Street West. According to initial unconfirmed information gathered at the scene, one agency reported the incident as a stabbing, while another agency reported it as a gunshot victim. The checkpoint was being conducted by the California Highway Patrol and Lancaster Police Department when the victim drove through the checkpoint. The checkpoint was located about a block away from Antelope Valley Medical Center. The victim was transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. At this time, it is unclear whether the victim was stabbed or shot. It is also unknown where the incident occurred or what led up to it.
