US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Driver Flees After Striking Apartment Building.

Bakersfield, United States - May 10, 2026 05/10/2026 01:58 am GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A Toyota Tundra struck an apartment building in the early morning on the 1200 block of Alta Vista Drive. The traffic collision occurred at approximately 1:58 a.m. The driver fled the scene after the collision. Bakersfield Police Department officers arrived shortly after and searched for evidence in the vehicle and surrounding area. They worked alongside the Bakersfield Fire Department, which assisted at the scene. As a result of the impact, a corner of the building collapsed, but fortunately, no occupants were present at the time, and no injuries were reported. Neighbors in the area told me that no one lives in the apartments because they were possibly being remodeled. The vehicle was later removed from the debris. The investigation is being handled by the Bakersfield Police Department.
