US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield SUV vs Semi Head On Collision.

Bakersfield, United States - May 02, 2026 05/02/2026 04:46 pm GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A head-on collision occurred around 4:46 PM just east of the intersection of Merle Haggard Drive and Pegasus Drive. A gray SUV crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a semi truck. At least one person was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. Heavy front-end damage was seen on the SUV and semi truck trailer. Both vehicles have been towed from the scene. California Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation, while the Kern County Sheriff's Office is assisting with traffic control, and the Kern County Fire Department assisted with medical.
