US, Phoenix: Phoenix 48th Street Prius vs Bicyclist Crash.

Phoenix, United States - August 24, 2026 08/23/2026 11:54 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Shortly before midnight on Sunday, Phoenix firefighters and the Phoenix Police Department responded to reports of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle on 48th Street just north of Van Buren Street. Emergency crews arrived and located an unidentified cyclist who was struck by a Toyota Prius that was traveling southbound on 48th Street. The cyclist was transported with reportedly life-threatening injuries to a local trauma hospital by Phoenix Fire personnel. Phoenix police closed 48th Street in both directions between Melvin Street and Fillmore Street as they investigated the crash.
